like sleeping on a cloud

It is so sad , i hate this mattress because of the off gasing from the memory foam. I had this mattress standing up in a spare bed room for almost 3 years to get rid of the chemical smell. I would try using it but would wake up congested almost sick from the fumes comming off the mattress. Well after 7 years i bought a complete water proof cover. After a week the chemical from the memory foam came through started smelling up the entire bedroom again. I now realize this mattress will never stop off gasing. Like sleeping on a cloud in a chemical factory. Called englander when first bougth they said give it some time, well 7 years later and still same problem. It came with a 15 year non prorated warranty, now they tell me to talk to Great American Furinture store. BS they will not stand behind their products. What a waste.

Very comfortable, but no durability.

Englander Indigo review. Pocketed springs with thick memory foam pillow top. I'm just shy of 3 years in and both sides of this mattress have had obvious body depressions for nearly a year already. We do rotate the mattress, but due to having pillow top memory foam on one side, we cannot flip it. That said, it still sleeps pretty well if you just lay in the dip. If you try to lay closer to the center, there's a BIG TIME feeling that your body wants to roll into the dip. I'm not happy about it. While I won't be throwing it out anytime real soon, it will probably happen long before a mattress should be tossed. I will not be buying an Englander next time and I would not recommend it to any friends.

Excellent Value But Not Perfect

The Englander Tension Ease series has additional model names depending on the store where it is marketed (like many mattress manufacturers) in an attempt to reduce competition and confuse the consumer trying to comparison shop. We have the king size pillow top version; has the individually pocketed coils, some gel and some memory foam. What we like is the softness and freedom from the back pain and hip pain that we had on a 4 year old Simmons Beautyrest that had developed severe body indentations and therefore was replaced by the store with this recommended mattress. My objections to the Englander are that it does retain body heat, so eventually we wind up throwing off the blanket some nights, and it has a large hump in the middle, possibly because it may be made of 2 twin size coil spring units attached in the middle. Since we don't sleep in the middle this does not matter to us. The outer casing was not sewn perfectly, as the pattern of the material does not correctly line up at the seams, but that does not seem to affect anything (possibly an appearance issue only) but nonetheless is a quality control issue. I am looking to buy another one of these for a different bedroom, as I am quite satisfied.

Sad Mattress

The saddest part is that when I contacted the dealer, they have no control over the mattress warranty. You have to deal with a third party. The third party sends a package that requires the consumer to take a photo of the mattress, put a string across the mattress and show that the sagging is more than 3 inches. Also, I learned in the paperwork, that a king size bed is suddenly required to have support feet on the floor down the middle of the bed, or the warranty is no good. It seems like if that was a requirement, the dealer should have made that known before I spent $1500 for the set.

Very Poor Quality

We purchased a $1,00.00 mattress and box springs sold as a King LE Summerville EF Mattress a year ago. In the first 6 months the mattress sagged, I rotated the mattress occasional when I washed our mattress pad. Soon I noticed my husbands side of our mattress was sagging. He is not an extremely overweight man 5'11" and a little over 200 pounds. The mattress also squeaks and creeks. It was manufactured by Spears Mattress in Rome, GA. Clearly they should not be able to use the good name of Englander to deceive the public they manufacture a outstanding product.

Do not buy an Englander Bed

This bed has a good written guarantee, but the company has their own description of what unacceptable means. The bed has a large hump in the middle about three inches high, separating man and wife. The company says this is natural and not to be an issue. They refuse to guarantee the mattress as they say all their mattresses do the same thing. Well, they did not say that when the mattress was purchased, nor do they list it in their advertizements.

Box Spring

The quality of the material in the box spring is poor. It makes THE WORST sound ever with ANY movement. I did get a replacement; but it is WORSE than the original. I feel CHEATED!!!!!
