Way TOO soft, back and hip pain every day

We went against our better judgement and purchased from Ashley. We figured that by spending $1600 we would be happy with our purchase. Almost immediately, my husband was complaining about back pain and not sleeping well. We have tried to keep it to allow a break in period but at 36, I walk like I am 70 due to pain in my hips from the bed being so soft that it cannot support my 115 lb body. We are confident that our body pain is a result of the bed because when we travel, we sleep great and do not wake up in pain. We will be visiting our local [Membership Warehouse (due to their very generous return policy)] very soon to replace this bed to end this body pain.

So far so good

I just bought this bed. It was my first memory foam/gel bed. Always had inner spring. My old bed was only a few years old but was sagging in the middle. The salesperson at Ashley showed me a memory foam on a motion/vibration foundation and I was sold, but the king bed I wanted was $5000, WAY too much for me! I then looked at my bed, which was a discounted queen floor model. It's a queen Ashley 1400 gel bed on a motion/vibration foundation. It goes up, down, and vibrates. Has a remote control, and my favorite button is the zero g button! Makes you feel like you are floating or in a cradle! Still, I was worried about how I would sleep on the memory foam. After one night I feel SO much better! Did not wake with my normal back, neck and hip pain! Did not hobble to the bathroom in the morning! It was a bit firm, but I'm sure I'll get used to that! It is supportive and cool. I got two memory foam pillows as well. Here's the best part: I only paid $1,070 for this bed and $100 more for delivery and set up! It has a warranty but I paid $200 more for a 10 year warranty on the foundation. So far I love my bed and hope to enjoy it for many more years to come!

The worst mattress ever

After sleeping on the mattress the first night I was so sore that I tried to return the mattress to the store. I was told that there is no return policy! Also the mattress is supposed to have a cooling gel but it doesn't work. My skin burns on this thing. For the price, I expected so much more.

so disappointed

I thought we had done our research. I thought this mattress would be a good bed for a long time. I started to feel the impression, the sagging, after only 6 months. It is about a year since we purchased the bed. I weigh no more than 130 lbs!! It is not like I am a big person! So I am very disappointed that this bed showed signs of deterioration after only a few months. It felt so good at first. We used our last bed for 22 years. (Though we could have used a new bed after about 20.) I will be even more careful when it comes to replacing this bed... which at this rate isn't too far off.

Don't fall for overpriced gimmicks!

I was lucky enough to get this mattress at a reasonable price online. I had previously tested it out at a local furniture store. My local Ashley Furniture didn't even have it on the floor...very POOR marketing!! Anyway, this mattress is eco friendly, it has no smells or odors, very soft & plush and best of all it has a quilted layer on top with foam in it for comfortable feel. Lyocell/Tencel is the up in coming preferred choice for those who like to sleep cool and there is such thing as a memory foam that sleeps cool because not only does the Tencel material deliver, but also the fact that the mattress is ventilated. I have tried Sleep Number, Temper-Pedic, & all the other high end mattresses and this is one is first class. It is backed by a 7 year warranty, however if you use a mattress protector you can well extend it! Another great feature of this mattress is the fact that you don't feel the base of it. Many reviews of cheaper $200-600 memory foam mattress complain about the base being hard and able to feel it while laying on the mattress resulting in an overall bad nights rest. Let me give you the short version, if you want exceptional value and a soft mattress with support from a top notch company, this is your best bet! You cannot go wrong with memory foam because it conforms to your body. Unlike latex it doesn't have a bouncy feeling, but more of a calm dense feel without sinking. You and your partner will love it or even if your single, it's a definite BUY!!! Shop around online for the best deal and you will love it even more! Former version is called South Bay. Thanks for reading!

Best Mattress I've ever owned

My in-laws purchased this as a Christmas gift. However, my wife and I did extensive shopping around before making a decision. We found Ashley to be the best value..... hands down. Really nothing out there compares to the price.

Worst bed I've owned

feels good at for the first couple of days but after 5 days it started killing my back.. the worst part is there's no return policy so now I'm stuck with the bed. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone in this world!! You will regret spending all that cash if you decide to buy one.

Numbing Purchase

We purchased this mattress last month in an Ashley Home Store and I was excited about the buy. The mattress felt very comfortable in the showroom(that's where they get you) and I was sure that I would be getting a great nights rest on it for years to come. Boy, should I have ever done my homework. Unfortunately, this is a new line of product out from Ashley and there are absolutely NO reviews out on this mattress aside from the story that Ashley donated one of their Talalay latex mattresses to an injured Broadway SpiderMan star. I don't know, but judging from my experience with this mattress after only 2 nights, I would say he's still injured or worse. I can barely sleep on this couple thousand dollar mattress because if I lay on my back, it puts my shoulders to sleep and pinches my nerves. The mattress is MUCH stiffer than I remember from the showroom and I will be going back to test the showroom model out to confirm I am still sane and not just making all this up. The mattress that was delivered to us feels like a piece of plywood with a latex topper over it. I'm a big guy at almost 300 pounds so I guess I'm bottoming out into the base layer which doesn't seem as far down as the showroom model we tested. It feels like literally 3 inches of latex on top of a STIFF base layer. I bottom out on it and it makes my shoulders numb and tingle. I'm so disappointed. We really went out on a limb and got an expensive mattress that we planned on lasting us many years and after only 2 nights on it I don't believe I'll be able to sleep on the thing. I think the 20 year old hand me down King Koil we had before may have been much more comfortable than what we have now. There was not an implied test period or anything so there's a good chance we're stuck with this mattress now. Hopefully the owner of this Ashley Home Store will value their customers and at least let us exchange this mattress for something else in their store. I urge anyone shopping for a new mattress...Do your homework and don't get in a rush to buy a new matress! The reason I made the decision to go ahead and get this one was because we were trying to top 3000 bucks to get the 4 years no interest and we were planning on buying a mattress anyways and so I decided we should go ahead and get one from Ashley and that way we could get 4 years to pay it off and get a quality matress we may have not been able to afford otherwise. I think it was a huge mistake on my part. Find a company who lets you try their mattress out worry-free and has at least a 10 or 15 year warranty on their product. I've learned my lesson here and it's a pricey one. Research whatever type of bed you are in the market for and spend a fair amount of time doing it.....It's a big purchase and you want to do your best not to regret it. Oh, and the reason I give this mattress a 5 on durability is that I figure anything this stiff should last at least 50 years or more. God bless guys.
