My shoulder is messed up now

Sleeping on my side on this mattress is very uncomfortable and made my shoulder sore. Now I have chronic problems with my rotator cuff.

Bought a new traditional mattress, Nest is gone

Ended up with wells (indents where body lies) on either side which was why we bought a new mattress in the first place, so we purchased a new wrapped coil spring traditional mattress from another manufacturer. This was our second Nest, the first was returned under warranty. The second one was better but degraded to an uncomfortable state is less than a year. Too bad, sales and support was good, mattress was good (2nd one) initially but that feeling did not last. Nest was the poorest economic performance of my mattress buying life so far.

Best part of my day

Love this mattress so much! It is the perfect softness, motion control and feel. My partner (200 lbs) doesn’t feel there is enough edge support for him but I love it and have no problems.

Mattress causes/exacerbates back pain!!

This mattress was sold to us as a reliable mattress that would last comparably with traditional mattresses and would provide necessary support. It did neither.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue. One of the great things about Nest Bedding is that we have a LIFETIME warranty. If you did in fact have an issue with the bed, you simply replace it for free with a new model. Contact our customer service, no reason to suffer if in fact it's a defect. All mattresses are subject to issues, which is why there are warranties. We just happen to have the best one.

Good but not great.

Upon receipt of our Alexander Signature mattress, we were a bit overwhelmed by the memory foam odor emanating from the mattress. We gave it a few days to air out before sleeping on it but even after a few days the odor was still very strong, we could smell the odor just walking into the bedroom. We then tried taking all the bedding off the mattress and setting up a fan to blow on the mattress for three days. After the second week (with the bedding removed in the daytime), a very noticeable odor still remains but it has dissipated to about 15% of what it was when we received it. When contacting Nest bedding to ask about the odor, they suggested we leave the mattress in the garage or outside to air out, something I refuse to do, the mattress will get dirty or what if it rains? Seemed like a misinformed suggestion. Maybe we are more sensitive to the odor than many other buyers, but we had hoped the odor would have been much less noticeable, yet after two weeks the odor is still there. We are not sure we will be keeping this mattress, beside the odor, it sleeps firmer that we had hoped. The top layer is soft but it seems as though the top layer is easily compressed and I am right down to a much firmer layer of foam which I wish was a less firm support layer. For sleeping on one's back it's probably okay, but not that comfortable to lay on my side or stomach.

Hard as concrete and hot as pavement in the summer sun

intially the mattress was hard and thought it would break in, after two years still as hard as a rock. Customer service was fine when they sent me a mattress topper but it is why too hot.

Luxury firm was too firm for me (but I'm very light)

For starters, I am 130 lb., athletic, female, 75% back sleeper, 25% side sleeper, with a history of lower back and neck issues. Nest is a GREAT company. I bought this from their brick and mortar store in Berkeley CA. I was looking for memory foam, good support and a good amount of hug and contour. In the store, the luxury firm felt just right. At home, and even after a few months, it's just too firm for me. I am experiencing a little tingling in the bottom of my foot and also in my shoulder if I sleep on my side. I returned to the store to try out the medium version of the bed, and, regrettably, that felt too soft. I was encouraged to try their Alexander Signature all memory foam bed, but the quilted cover on that one was too thick and I felt like it was detracting from the memory foam feel that I like. I am now looking at the Novosbed Medium or Loom & Leaf Luxury Firm.

Frustrating Nest Bedding Experience

My wife and I really, REALLY wanted to like our mattress from Nest Bedding. It seemed like the ideal mattress for us as we considered our health and our family's. However, the main goal of a good mattress is that it also actually has to be comfortable, and in that department our Nest mattress failed us. We woke up for weeks with sore backs after using this bed! We travel quite a bit, so we both have many reference points with mattresses that surely would be considered "inferior." It is only with our Nest Bedding mattress that we have felt our backs ache, and it is as immediate as the first night we return home. So I requested a refund for the mattress during our "100 night free trial" period, but instead of a refund I got an email from company founder Joe Alexander asking us to give his mattress another try. We then embarked on a frustrating ordeal where Mr. Alexander offered and sent out a "topper," questioned our bedroom setup and denigrated other competitors' options on the market, but still no refund. After trading many emails with Mr. Alexander - and trying what he suggested, we decided that this mattress was still not for us. He refused to refund our money. He only offered a mattress of lesser quality, which we did not want. With so many new online companies offering a no-questions-asked return policy, it's disconcerting to run into one that doesn't honor it. We're now stuck with a $2,400 albatross in our bedroom. The $2400 Lesson: Trust your gut instinct. If a bed doesn't feel right during the trial period, insist on the refund- nothing but the refund. Period. Do not engage with the vendor on any "troubleshooting," as there are too many other choices on the market. It's also too bad that we discovered that Joe Alexander values revenue retention versus true customer service and positive word of mouth. He also demonstrated a bit of a temper. I know others have had good experiences, but honestly, from our experience, I would say this: Don't shop here!!

Good value luxury foam on the soft side

Having slept on this mattress for 4 months now, I have the following observations about the Alexander Signature Medium: 1. The overall feel of this mattress is a good balance of squishy memory foam and bouncy latex. 2. The "medium" firmness is actually on the soft side. If you are a true stomach sleeper, you might need to go with the "firm". 3. I had the advantage of stopping by their showroom when in San Francisco, and the customer service was good. Ordering online was easy. Mattress arrived 9 days after clicking "buy." 4. There was no "gassing" smell at all. 5. There is no reason to spend 2-3 times as much on a Tempurpedic.

Good bed if you weigh 95 lbs

I'm 6'2" and weigh about 190 and after about a month and a half, my body created a rather annoying indentation on my side of the bed. I've tried to rotate the bed but there is no escaping this phenomenon. The inner portion of this gouge is not as comfortable as the unaffected parts so at times I attempt to sleep in the middle of the bed only to unavoidably roll back to the center of this uncomfortable zone. The reviews of this thing were great and I suppose I would give it a thumbs up too if I was reviewing it right out of the box , but this thing does not stand the test of time.
