Money down the Drain

My experience is much like the other reviews here. Back and hips hurt to the point of having to go through physical therapy. Store refused to help. Manufacturer denied a problem. Spend too much and now have to shop for something else in less than fifteen months. Disappointed. Mad. Pissed off beyond words.

Worst Purchase EVER

Every morning I wake up close to tears, and say I am going to write a review, so I am finally going to do it. About two and a half years ago I convinced my now husband, that it was time to ditch our crappy discount, hand-me-down mattress we'd been sleeping on, and invest in a great bed. We both have bad backs from playing sports, we both have stressful jobs, and sound, comfortable sleep is so important for both those issues. So, we walked over to our local fidi sleepys to spend a considerable amount of money, probably on a tempurpedic. Store experience was great, they used a cool machine to look at the amount of firmness each of us needed, and by the end we walked out buying a pretty expensive sleeptolive mattress (same firmness on both sides). What a mistake. Long story short, the bed dips in the middle. It always has. After 6 months, we actually put our old mattress pad that we had bought to disguise the awfulness of our old bed on our new, expensive bed!! Finally after 2 years of frustration, I took action, called sleepys to see if there was anything we could do. I find out that we have a great warranty, and may be able to do do something about this mess after all. Yay! They send out someone to look at our bed, and it turns out I really do sleep on an angle! The "string" test showed that sure enough our bed dips on both sides, but about an inch more on mine. So the tech sends his report to sleepys/their third party mattress reviewer -- we are so excited that the prospect of a good, comfortable sleep is on the horizon, and then we heard from sleepys. Got our long-awaited letter in the mail…and…THEY DENIED OUR CLAIM. Really!?! After so much great, helpful customer service, we received a cold, inhuman awful letter. That provided little information, other than something to the tune of “your mattress is defective, but not defective enough, deal with it”. I am beyond irate, uncomfortable, tired, and will never shop at Sleepy's or buy Sleep To Live ever again, and neither should you.

Internal structure failure

This mattress was not cheap. We absolutely loved it for the first year. Then one morning I woke up with a sore back. That night when I went to bed I felt like I was being "sucked down" and I couldn't roll over. Woke up the next morning with a sore back again. That night when I went to bed I noticed that when I got in bed I definitely "sunk" down into the mattress, I tried to reposition and felt a "wall" between my husband and myself and I noticed he seemed "higher" than me. I asked him to roll towards me and when he did he FELL ON TOP of me! The mattress was not one complete unit but more like a pair of twin beds under a memory foam pillow top, We both got out of bed and my side never raised back up! The side I slept on had COLLAPSED approximately 6 inches in on itself! The outer rim of the mattress did not cave in. We are now taking turns sleeping between the bed and the sofa since this mattress will not accommodate 2 people. We are not rowdy kids in bed and we are not overweight. The mattress was deilvered new from the store and hadn't been moved or handled since it was purchase 18 months ago. I am still attempting to contact the company. The store I bought it from has closed.

crappy

After 3 1/2 years got 1 inch sags where we sleep. The 20 year warranty is useless because the sags must be 1 1/2 inches before they will replace. With the sags that we have now we wake up with sore backs/hips in the morning. They will not replace. Money wasted. Over $1,000.00 for 3 years of comfort.

Rip-Off

Worst POS bed I've ever been suckered into buying and by far the most expensive. This overpriced mattress gets hot and STAYS hot even when I go back an hour later to make the bed it is still warm! We've had it barely a year and we have the sagging dents, however we do not meet the 'warranty' criteria. Customer service is uninterested at best. Don't let the furniture store guy fool you into buying this product because all it means is a big commission for him/her and a big PITA for you.

Worst 2k+ spent

I wanted a mattress that would comfortable and make sleeping enjoyable. Visited the store and all high-tech gadgetry impressed (fooled?) me and it really felt nice and I forked $2400 for them. One year later I moved to another place (the mattress was well tied in the moving truck -- took help of professional movers). And 4-5 months later it started sagging and it has gone worse since then. I have slept on some cheap mattresses and they have better support even after 3-4 moves than this pricey ones. I can't change it because it has a stain on the side. I absolutely hate this mattress and by extension this company.

The great divide

The divide in the middle is an actual ridge after a short time. I find the most comfortable time in bed is before my husband gets there and I can lie crosswise; otherwide you roll towards the edge of the bed because of the ridge; have almost rolled off two times. We did try a different firmness as a option of Selden's exchange program but that did nothing for the underlying issue. I would NEVER recommend this bed to anyone and even though we paid $2200 for the mattress alone, I really think we are going to need buy something totally different. What a waste of money. If you need two different firmness options, please try a different method of achieving it.
