    Suffering with Saatva

    My husband and I hate this mattress so much. We wanted a comfortable, supportive, non-memory foam mattress without toxic chemicals, and the zen haven had great reviews. We thought “luxury plush” would be comfortable, but we both toss and turn uncomfortably throughout the night and wake up with pain and numbness. On the positive side, their customer service was great when I called to initiate a return within the 1-year trial period. They’re even sending a complimentary mattress topper to see if that makes it more comfortable for us. Unless the topper is a miracle-worker, we’ll be returning this and most likely ordering a McRoskey Sunset.

    Worst Mattress I've ever had

    My previous mattress was a tempurdic, it was wonderful. This one has been terrible, I just sink toward the middle of the bed. I have plywood under it and a mattress topper on top of it. Nothing helps. I'll never buy another mattress on line. I just found my warranty, to replace it - it would cost another 40, if the first one was awful, why would I want to try another.

    No Plush Side

    Got this because of the whole 2 mattresses in one thing. The plush side is barely softer than the firm. Very painful for my shoulders and hips. Anyone who likes a firm or med/firm will probably love this mattress. Delivery went fine, mattress looked and felt to be very professionally made, and slept very cool. Follow up customer support was outstanding and they stayed in touch via phone and email. Samantha A. was wonderful to work with. When after giving it 2 weeks to loosen up I decided to return it, no one tried to change my mind. Just a "Sorry it didn't work out for you, our delivery partner will be in touch for pickup." They actually processed my refund that day. SAATVA (Zenhaven's owner) is obviously very customer centered and genuinely tries to help their customers. Too bad they don't (yet) make a plush latex mattress.

    Excellent Mattress, Horrible Delivery Experience

    The mattress is excellent in terms of how it feels. It will supposedly have a 20-year life. I'm not so sure about that, but the company stands behind their claim, so I figured it was worth the investment. My problem with this whole experience was in the delivery. The first delivery involved 2 inconsiderate men who left stains on the mattress and the foundation, as well as my stairway carpet. I complained to Zenhaven, and to their credit, they immediately issued an exchange. A few weeks later another delivery was made by 2 different guys from the same company. Although these guys did not soil my carpet or bedding, the mattress and foundation arrived damaged. I called Zenhaven about it, and the general manager, after viewing photos that I took, offered to again replace the items. The damage to the mattress involved stains from some sort of ink in the manufacturing process, and the ribbing on the side was unraveling in various places. The foundation made loud creaking noises. The 3rd delivery was made a few weeks later. (I started this whole process in July. By now September was well underway.) The 3rd delivery consisted of the same 2 delivery guys as the 2nd delivery, only this time they were careless on my stairs, dragging the boxed mattress up the stairs, leaving black greasy residue on the carpet, which is exactly what had happened back in July during the 1st delivery. The mattress had a black stain on one side and a brown stain on its satin tag, and the foundation, although much better than the previous one, also makes slight creaking noises that seem to be worsening as the days go by. My order total came to nearly $2,500 with the mattress, foundation, and frame, and I feel that for that kind of money there ought to have been much better quality control at the manufacturing facility, as well as a delivery company that practices the "white glove delivery" Zenhaven advertises on their website. I will likely be exchanging the foundation again, for the 4th time. What a fiasco this has been!

    Very Uncomfortable!!!

    Delivery unprofessional, Mattress NOT supportive, VERY uncomfortable, the WORST mattress that we have ever slept on! We arranged the return of the mattress 3 days after receiving it. We simply could not take anymore sleeping on it, felt like we were sleeping in a hole. Customer Service tried every way to convince us to keep the mattress, no way. They offered a free topper, offered to deduct money off the mattress, did not seem happy that we were sending back but it has to go!

    Quest for a bed bought online

    I never wrote a review for the Zenhaven, and it is probably overdue. I had a regular spring mattress with a memory foam topper originally. So I decided to try a Sapira mattress. I really disliked the Aapira, I woke up with hip pain, it was just way too stiff. I also noticed that my sinuses were constantly inflammed whenever I woke up, I have a feeling it was due to off gassing from the memory foam. Long story short, I went with latex because it is as natural as you can get, no chemicals sprays to make it flame retardant, and no off gassing. The latex bed took a good couple of weeks to get used to, but in the end it is as close to a fully innerspring mattress as you are going to get without memory foam. I encourage anyone who is looking for a mattress that is coming from an innerspring to try out a latex mattress. It doesnt have to be a Zenhaven, the only reason why I chose Zenhaven was because the mattress was flip-able with different levels of firmness on each side. I think the ability to test different levels of firmness in your own home for weeks was really what sold the mattress to me.

    Not for side sleepers

    We ordered this mattress b/c we were sleeping way too hot on our previous one. Goodbed suggested this would be a good match for us, and the online reviews seemed good. Overall not a good experience - customer service was spotty, mattress delivery was a pain to schedule, and unfortunately the mattress itself was uncomfortable. Even on the luxury plush slide, i was unable to side sleep without causing shoulder problems and hip aching. Temperature was only mildly better than our previous, still too much on the hot side. Overall very disappointing. We returned it but had to pay the $100 shipping costs which we knew would be a possibility. Ended up going instead with Nest's Hybrid luxury countour - SO much better, great customer service. It's like night and day for us

    I ordered this mattress from my daughter's recommendation...

    I ordered this mattress from my daughter's recommendation. She likes organic stuff. I had trouble from the beginning because I am a side sleeper and my arthritis (shoulder) flared up because the pressure from the mattress was continuous until I would roll over and try the other side, which was just as bad. The same thing happened with a memory foam mattress which I replaced with this mattress. The company has been wonderful and the mattress is of high quality, but just not for my type of problems. I am going back to a coil spring mattress made by the same company.

    Poor Fit with adjustable base

    The mattress has an overhang of about 3 inches on one side from the adjustable base. The set-up process was very poor. The brackets for keeping the mattress on the bases were not installed. The bases were not oriented correctly, they placed the feet next to the head board on both sets. Each set of mattress and bases are very heavy, and we are not strong enough to move them. Now we have to wait too sleep in the correct orientation, or only use the beds in a flat position. Note: We purchased two sets. So far my wife likes the feel of the mattress. I am not sure myself about the feel. It looks like the mattresses can be flipped over, as they look the same on both sides, but I am not sure about that.

    Love this mattress

    I can't say enough good things about this mattress. I have a Shiffman mattress in my other house that I love, but it was $7000. I was looking for a less expensive alternative and decided to go (sight unseen) with this Zenhaven. It is even better than the Shiffman. It has 2 different firmness offerings (one on each side). We have gone with the soft side and love it. delivery and setup were as anticipated without any glitches. Respectful competent delivery people.
