This mattress was purchased for a weekend home so sees seldom use. Within 2 years there were significant body impressions on the surface (we weigh 180 to 230). Cannot get a comfortable night sleep.

We could not be happier with our G.S. Stearns Luxury Plush mattress by Stearns and Foster. We almost cannot believe how perfect it is for us. We do like firmer mattresses with a soft euro top. We have owned this mattress for 4 years and we both sleep better than we have in many years before. Shows no sign of wear or changing shape. Great motion isolation. Neither of us can feel when the other gets up or turns over in the bed during the night at all. I really do often think, when I get in the bed, how great this mattress feels. I used to have neck and lower back pain but don't experience any of that when I wake up in the morning. It is not for the person who likes a squishy memory foam feel. Those kinds of mattresses and thick added memory foam toppers give me a back ache every time.

My wife and I were in the market for a new mattress after 8 years on our old one. Having recently turned 50 I wanted to get a top of the line mattress that would give me a decent nights sleep even when I was feeling the occasional aches and pains associated with being a little older. We purchased the Stearns and Foster Reserve No 3 from a local retailer and though it was pricey, we were told it was a solid mattress and would give us a restful nights sleep for years to come. First off the mattress is a monster and weighs a ton. We moved into a new house and the mattress was leaning against the wall before we got our new bedframe. I had to wrestle the bed by myself to the frame and it was almost an impossible feat. The pain in my mid and lower back started on night number 2. We've had the mattress now for 3 full months and my pain is at the point now where I can only sleep on my left side as the pain there is only moderate. I've NEVER had this kind of persistent back pain in my life and it is not due to an injury or overuse. I am convinced it's the mattress. I've been researching beds on line the last few days and have told my wife we need to get rid of this mattress because it's killing me. The Saatva Luxury Medium Firm is the best rated mattress for side sleepers and those with back pain. We may go in that direction. Either way - I can't sleep another night on the S&F and we will put it in our guest bedroom. At least it will keep visitors from staying too long!

This is the best Mattress I've ever owned! Ok so I'm going to explain my experience since the beginning as I searched all over the internet for reviews and never found an actual owners review about this mattress. So when I first got it let me tell you it is super heavy so you definitely need some muscle help to move it. the first night was not so pleasant one. As I had been sleeping on my worn pillow top mattress and then went straight to this brand new high density memory foam mattress. It definitely needs to be broken into. It felt too firm the first night and I tossed and turned a lot throughout the night and in the morning I had shoulder pain as I'm a side sleeper and I also sleep on my stomach. I did some research and found out that high density mattresses need a break in period for them to become their true softness. I read that some people walked on it to speed up the break in period so the second night before I went to sleep I walked on it for like 10-15 min and I had a better sleep than the first night and I kept waking on It for the next 2 nights and it soften up a lot more and I had great sleep on it then and on. I read that it takes about 2-3 months to totally break in the Mattress which is true but after I walked on it for a few nights it felt great. It is definitely a medium soft mattress. I like more soft mattresses than medium so I wished that this was a tad more soft only for when I sleep on my side for my shoulders. But I have now gotten used to it and I don't get any shoulder pain as it softened up. So if you like softer Mattresses like me do know that this is a medium soft but it's just the right amount of soft not too soft but not firm at all. i can tell that this mattress is going to have a long life. It won't sag with age like other memory foam mattress tend to do and I also gotta say that the edge support is amazing! That was one of the reasons why I wouldn't go for a full foam mattress because the edge sucks on those but this you have great support and you really do get more mattress spc

The mattress developed body impressions on two sides. S&F won't fix it under warranty. We're suffering in discomfort every night after spending over $3,000 on this mattress. We're forced to buy another mattress, I can guarantee that it won't be S&F!
