The mattress is hard and unforgiving.

I have been sleeping on this mattress for 4 years, waking with so many aches and pains, going to the doctor because of the pain. I decided to start sleeping in my guest room on a different mattress and it is amazing what the difference has been after waking. This mattress has become hard over the years, it has sunk in and does not bounce back. I think the shape of my body is embedded on the bed. I understand why it is discontinued.

Complete waste of money

We bought the Aldercrest firm 9" queen set from Costco in Jan 2016. Had to replace it earlier this year (2019) because it sags so much we were waking up with sore backs every morning. Warranty only covers sags over 1.5", not springs that collapse under your weight. Warranty is supposed to be 10 yrs without deductible. Oh, and you have to ship it to them and pay for testing before they decide if they will do anything. This piece of cr## is going to the dump and we will NEVER buy another Sealy product.

Waste of money!!

I wake up in pain during the night due to pain from sleeping on this mattress. There is a huge lump in it along with some small random ones. I have no idea what is going on with this mattress. It’s horrible!!!

Replacing after 5 years

Purchased this mattress. Quite upset when it arrived because it was going into a Scandinavian style bedf rame with slats - their version of king size seems to be different. Called and complained company sent another -exactly the same -mattress measured 59"x78.5" vs a regular 60x80". Complained but company insisted it fell within their 'specs'. Ultimately bought a new bed to accommodate this mattress. It is now 5 years later and we just purchased a new mattress because we couldn't stand it. Each of us has a sag on our sleeping "spot" and we are of average height and weight (165 & 190). New bed has curved slats so I suspect it needs a firmer base but we were also always HOT and had a breathable natural wool bed mattress pad. Also could alwys feel with my husband got up and out of bed. It will now go to landfill because new company donated mattresses in good condition but people who need donated mattresses do not need king size!

Gives me a hug every night

This bed is my dream bed! I sleep more soundly and feel more refreshed in the morning. And most of my hot flashes are gone! Absolutely love this bed and would highly recommend it.

Sleeping in a bowl of foam, painful for herniated/art disc.

I sleep from 1:30am till my back aches at 2-3:30am then I wake up, have to put my pillow at foot end then back to bed and sleep for another 3hours. My legs don't weigh down the mattress like my torso does. So normal foot end still keeps support better than where my torso was laying. Normal position on mattress compresses discs in my lower back causing more pain. So eventually torso has no support from mattress. Mattress needs firmer support to RETAIN SHAPE UNDER PRESSURE to maintain straight back position to prevent ongoing compression of spine from lack of supporting mattress. However, needing pillow top of sorts for reducing hip pressure points. I suffer from arthritis between L3-4 and bursitis in hips

Best Money I've ever SPENT

My last mattress worked for me but after my last back surgery it ws too hard.....I went mattress shopping and I just couldn't figure out which one to buy after only being able to lay on it for a few minutes... So I picked the Sealy Posturepedic Ultra Plush Euro Pillowtop Special Reserve Collection because in the short time I laid on it, it felt great ......And I'm glad I choose it.....

For an original listed price of $4k at the Bay, this was still selling as a 2k mattress. After just a little over a year the pillow top has sagged cause discomfort and back pain. Our last one lasted 13 years and was in better shape when we replaced it than this one. I now have to sleep with pillows for support and there is a hill in the middle of the bed. After making us jump through hoops to get an inspection, they do an obsolete “string test” to assess the sag and tell us there is no defect, surprise...even though the measure showed a 3/4” sag...apparently it has to be 1 1/2” without any weight on it -ouch! .While they acknowledged the sag that of course wasn’t a problem in the return period, they want us to wait until it gets much worse before acknowledging they had a production issue with this Fairmont -supposedly top of the line - pillow top. This just confirms there are many better retailers who will stand behind a warranty than the Bay, who seem determined not to resolve the issue after repeated emails and calls. It isn’t even Sealy that tested for the defect, but instead their manufacturer Montague mattresses in Alberta? All I know is Sealy is off the list of mattress suppliers and will never buy this type of product from The Bay...clearly their concerns are not about satisfied customers! #worstmattressexperience!
