For an original listed price of $4k at the Bay, this was still selling as a 2k mattress. After just a little over a year the pillow top has sagged cause discomfort and back pain. Our last one lasted 13 years and was in better shape when we replaced it than this one. I now have to sleep with pillows for support and there is a hill in the middle of the bed. After making us jump through hoops to get an inspection, they do an obsolete “string test” to assess the sag and tell us there is no defect, surprise...even though the measure showed a 3/4” sag...apparently it has to be 1 1/2” without any weight on it -ouch! .While they acknowledged the sag that of course wasn’t a problem in the return period, they want us to wait until it gets much worse before acknowledging they had a production issue with this Fairmont -supposedly top of the line - pillow top. This just confirms there are many better retailers who will stand behind a warranty than the Bay, who seem determined not to resolve the issue after repeated emails and calls. It isn’t even Sealy that tested for the defect, but instead their manufacturer Montague mattresses in Alberta? All I know is Sealy is off the list of mattress suppliers and will never buy this type of product from The Bay...clearly their concerns are not about satisfied customers! #worstmattressexperience!
