This was soft and has 'a thousand' coils. It sinks, it's very hot, and it's too hard/quicksand feeling while being 'too soft' on top. So you feel the 'hotdog' sensation of an old mattress from day one. Never had back pain -EVER - before this mattress. It hit the pressure points in my back to the point where I literally jump out of the bed and would rather sleep in a papasan chair.Worst mattress I have ever owned!
Still too firm... and took forever to get this one after complaining about the grand rapids one... to the salesman that I couldn't sleep at all yhe first three nights... expressed my concerns about it being the wrong one and they postponed twice to getting me this once which is only very slightly softer. ... but nothing uniquely similar to the show room where I was shown the original. ... I must just not agree with this brand. ...

The mattress is 9 months old and has over two inches of sag (as measured by company tech) on both sides. My wife and I are not big people so this is unexpected. Definitely not worth the $1379 purchase price. We will see how good the non pro-rated 10 year warranty really is.

If you need a firm mattress, you won't be disappointed
I've spent lots of money (2500+) on mattresses in the past. I recently bought a pierpont when I needed a mattress in a second home. I didn't want to spend a lot for a mattress that would get occasional use. I have to say that this mattress is much more comfortable/supportive than my others. It's a coil mattress, but you don't feel the coils. There's a slight pillow top that makes it firm with just a little softness. There is decent motion isolation, and good edges that don't sink when you get out of bed. I actually replaced a memory foam mattress with a second pierpont. Highly recommended.

we spent alot of money on this bed and it sagged in 6mnths
we bought a king size and the bed had terrible body impressions in it after 6months you could hardly roll over because it was like trying to roll up hill. My husband and I are not big people and only sleep 6 hours a night. There was no support after 6 months what will it look like in 5 years is the scary thought!! Don't buy this mattress unless you want hip and back pain!

After lying in bed for about 20 minutes, the middle begins to sag. It takes considerable effort to move out of the hole to the edge of the bed where there is better support. This is what you will be doing through out the night. If you get out of bed and look at the mattress you will clearly see a sag. I laid on the bed at the store for about 5 minutes which wasn't enough time for the sag to develop, otherwise I would not have bought it. {It takes about 20 minutes to develop}

I have had (2) replacements of this mattress from the American Furniture Warehouse in a period of just a few months. I have had the same issue with each of the mattresses and am having the second one returned in order to purchase another mattress brand all together.
I have had a Beautyrest in the past and it lasted a good 15 years. It was one of the best mattresses I ever had and thought that purchasing another Beautyrest would be a good idea. I was very, very wrong.
I ordered a queen size Pontevedra and almost immediately, you could feel a difference between the two sides of the mattress. One side felt like it was supporting you and the other side felt like you were sinking down into it--like you were in a "valley." I contacted AFW and was given a replacement mattress of the same model. Shortly afterwards, I was noticing the same problem. The first side I laid on was fine, but when I rotated my mattress as I was supposed to, I noticed that there was extreme sagging again on the opposite side.
My first purchase was less than a year ago. I have had two replacements with the same problem. I spoke with AFW and they are concerned because they said that another consumer just brought her new mattress in for the same thing. I have been waking up every morning with completely numb hands and have had a large amount of back and neck pain. Recently, I have also started to feel a deep kind of nerve pain in my back and last night I lay in my bed feeling like I was going to cry because I hurt so much. I have been tossing and turning every night since getting this model and cannot wait for my new mattress from another brand to come tomorrow--it couldn't come soon enough!
I will be taking steps to contact Beautyrest asap on this, especially now that I'm learning that I haven't been alone in this and that others are experiencing the same sagging that I am with it. I'm just ready to not be in pain anymore. That is the worst part of this whole experience.

My first Simmons Beautyrest Dreamwell Cliff Haven Plush Pillow Top was replaced after just 3 months. This is the second mattress I've had for about 1 year and today has been inspected. Shows obvious 2 inch sink in middle. Back and neck problems have now escalated due to this poorly constructed mattress. Is this not discontinued due to poor center support?
