I think we had a fluke. Concept and design are great.
My wife and I were looking for a good supportive mattress system and we're looking at a competitive brand when we were introduced to the Dormeo brand at a local mattress company. We both liked the concept, comfort, support and warranty of the model we purchased. Unfortunately, after only two weeks, my wife started to say she fealt like she was sleeping in a hole. We continued for another two weeks before making a comment to our sales person, who told us it might be our body's' getting used to it. So we continued a time longer then went back with the same complaint. We then contacted the company's customer service department who sent out a service representative. He discovered two separation holes in the top layer foam that caused large sink holes in our mattress. The company quite readily issued a full price credit to the store from which we purchased it. Needless to say we are using the credit to purchase another brand. Not too pleased with the brand, but extremely pleased with the company from whom we made our purchase.
I have several herniated discs in my back and suffer through a good night's sleep. My old Tempur-Pedic was great except it would get hot and certain extra curricular activities were difficult due to the sinking. When it finally reached it's due age I decided to try something new. After only one year and in spite of several turns the Dormeo has developed a huge hump in the middle of the bed which makes it nearly impossible to roll over. I wake up in pain after only a few hours every night and can never seem to get comfortable. The Dormeo cost considerably more than its competitors and truly is piece of junk. The material has simply collapsed! At least I could get a full night's sleep in my Tempur-Pedic even if we did have to keep it cold in the room!
Soft top pad and a hard and bumpy surface underneath.
The top foam is soft and you can feel each foam coil in the next layer... this bed is the worst bed I've ever slept in. I'm sleeping on the couch tonight!
My wife and I owned this mattress for four months and so far we are very pleased with it. She has back issues and prefers a firm mattress while I typically prefer something softer. We found this mattress to be much more comfortable than most inner spring mattresses and we prefer it to the top-rated memory foam models. Most memory foam models make rolling over or getting out of bed challenging because you tend to sink into them. That is not the case with this mattress. ThIs mattress is very supportive and literally floats your body without allowing you to sink into the mattress. Heat retention is never an issue. The mattress also quiet and retains just enough rebound to aid with certain extra curricular activities. It is a great mattress choice for those looking for an alternative to a traditional inner spring mattress and have not been impressed by memory foam mattresses. Unfortunately I cannot speak to the long-term durability of the mattress but it is looking good so far. I would recommend this mattress to friends or family.
This review is for Octaspring Serenite LuxeBED Plush / Firm
I was on a temper classic for 8 years- tiried of sweating- so seen dormeo's infomercial and took a chance. Love the bed- no sweating - comfortable for my partner and myself.
I have had six spinal surgeries. In addition, I have been recently diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst spanning four thoracic vertebrae and which inflicts constant pain. I have used Tempurpedic, Sleep Number and other "pedic" mattresses. When the Octaspring 8500 arrived, I had my first pain-free sleep in more than 10 years!
I haven't slept this well in years. I had two mattresses from Kingsdown and they don't compare the Dormeo.
I was choseing between this mattress and one from Tempurpedic. I chose the Dormeo and I'm glad I did.
I would recommend this to anyone.
Best Regards
I have back issues and they have disappeared since buying this mattress. I had spent thousands of dollars on mattresses to ease the pain and I can finally say I am free of back pain. I love the luxury feel of the mattress. I feel like I am in a five star hotel when in my bed. I love this mattress and bought one for both my daughters, It is hard to sleep away from home now.
Best Bed I've ever put my back on, chose it over the TempurPedic Luxe bed, and I'm very pleased with the results. Love it! And haven't had one night of hot sleep since I got it.
Let me say first that I would never jump straight to a scathing review without first trying to work things out with the company. However, I have tried over the course of months to resolve issues to no avail, so I think it is important that people know what they're getting into when dealing with this company.
I have never experienced such terrible service in my whole life!!! I've had two crazy incidences with this company - one that took months to resolve and another that is still in progress.
1) Getting the mattress. My mattress was delivered (or en route to be delivered) to the wrong address about 3 or 4 times over the course of months. Every time I discovered that it was headed or had arrived at yet another incorrect location, I went around and around being passed from customer service, to corporate office, to supervisors, to the delivery company, and to the someone the delivery company subcontracted with. RIDICULOUS. Eventually, the mattress got to me, but in the meantime, my husband and I had to sleep on our couch because, thinking we had a mattress on the way, we got rid of ours. A customer service supervisor did extend our risk-free trial period, and he gave us two free pillows - but this was only after months of aggravation AND me prompting him to provide me with SOME sort of compensation for my troubles.
2) Monthly payments. Like most people investing in this product, I agreed to small monthly payments over a certain period of time. These payments were to be billed to my credit card automatically - set it and forget it, right? Not when you deal with this company! I received a voicemail a couple of months ago telling me I owed the entire amount due to my payments not being fulfilled. Unbeknownst to me since I was under the impression that all was being taken care of automatically, they did not receive my last couple of payments. I would gladly have resolved this quickly had I known, but apparently, they tried to reach me by email and did not receive a response. Meanwhile, they clearly have other ways of contacting me (since I received their voicemail quite easily). Also, something must have gone wrong on their end since all of my other automatic credit card payments were going through without a hitch. So, once again, I battled with customer service, who said it was fine, I just needed to send a check for $1000+ immediately to resolve this issue. I refused to do this since the lapsed payment was not my fault. Customer service spoke with her supervisor, and I thought the issue was resolved. However, a month and a half or so later, i received a letter from their billing department saying that my account would go to collections if I did not pay the full amount. Of course, I called customer service again, and the lady tried to convince me that since my payments were going through as scheduled, that letter was just saying I "had the option to pay in full." Clearly, that's not what this warning letter said. So, I spoke with her supervisor who assured me that all was well and that I would just continue to receive monthly warning letters about collections because it is "company policy" and that I should just ignore those letters. WHAT?! It's company policy to send letters to paying customers every month warning that their account is going to collections?!?!?! The supervisor eventually conceded to put a stop to those letters, which worked for one month. Guess what I got this month though: another letter thanking me for my continued payments but saying that I owe the whole amount in full! So I called again and spoke to a manager of customer service. He promised to "look into it," and when I asked how I would know if the issue has been resolved, he said I'd know if I get another letter. Really? No offer of a courtesy call? No offer of any type of compensation for my troubles or even an apology? WOW. I guess I'll just have to wait until next month to find out if I will be arguing with the company yet again.
