Horrible mattress, even worse customer service

The first thing I noticed about this mattress was that it didn’t fell anything like the store model. Then, around three months, I started experiencing back pain and realized the mattress was sagging. Then I noticed a big bulge on the side, and felt as if I was falling from the bed when sitting on the side of the mattress. I contacted EA and was told they’d have to inspect the mattress. I heard nothing further for a month and started looking online for the warranty (which I wasn’t given at time of purchase or delivery), and discovered both the mattress AND the foundation are supposed to be rotated after three months, and the every six months thereafter! That’s ridiculous! I contacted EA again and told them that failure to disclose that invalidated the purchase and I wanted my money back. The franchise owner called and said I didn’t really have to do that and set an appointment to inspect the mattress. The inspector could readily see the problems and told me his EA mattress was also sagging! I went another month without hearing anything and contacted them again. This time the owner told me Kingsdown said the sagging was normal! He said they hadn’t made a determination about the side issue but thought it might be my fault! Then he said he had no control over them and was trying to help me and hadn’t told them I didn’t turn the mattress and foundation on time because that would void the warranty! The clincher is I turned both mattress and foundation once I found out. But this side started sagging after two months. Overall, the mattress is really uncomfortable and I have to constantly move around and sleep in different positions/places to alleviate pain. It is not only the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever had, my others held up well past the ten-year period.

Worse mattress EVER!!!

After about a year of owning an Ethan Allen mattress they replaced our mattress because of the indentations. We have had the second mattress a bit longer than a year and it’s just as bad as the first mattress. The indentations are so bad that my hip hurts when I get up. I can hardly walk it hurts so much. After a while I loosen up and am fine. This is not what a good mattress should be. Not to mention we paid a small fortune for it. My husband is having the same issue now. EA should stick to furniture and skip the mattress business. It one of the biggest waste of money we ever spent. We are headed to shop for a Stearns & Foster… purchased that brand several times and loved it! Should never have swayed away from that brand but we thought it would be better because it bears the Ethan Allen name… never again. If you are reading this BUYER BEWARE!!! Don’t ever but at EA!!

Same mattress model exchanged due to sinking.

The mattress sinks in and does NOT return to its original form, This mattress was changed once and The same exact problem occurred with the replacement mattress of the same model. Customer service came out and said he could definitely see the indentation and that it was should not be a problem to replace the mattress for a third time. The customer service rep at Ethan Allen customer service department said they would not replace the mattress, he reached out to his supervisor, and they declined to change the mattress for the third time.

Mattress sinks over short period of time

This mattress has been a disappointing costly purchase from the get-go. Within a brief time of sleeping at night, it sinks and does not support my back. I wake up sore. I would not recommend purchasing a mattress at Ethan Allen, due to the poor product quality at premium cost and certainly due to their lack of warranty.

Don’t buy. No mattress integrity. Dented immediately

This mattress is terrible. Looked older than the 8 year old mattress I replaced in a month. Dented with body impressions immediately and I only weigh 110 pounds. Ethan Allen does not stand behind their products and told me it was supposed to look like that. Truly a rip off. Horrible mattress. Horrible company. There are plenty of other choices. Don’t buy this one.

Less than 1 year old & body impression

I have ordered many items from EA and this is the first I am unhappy with. I sent a message to customer service, had a tech come out and measure how deep my body impression was-1"! I never have had a mattress with a body impression. My previous mattress was a Beautyrest. EA responds that I am far off the 1.5" needed to return the mattress and to rotate it. Give me a break! I weigh 130 lbs. I am not a huge person. Every morning I wake up with a lower back ache. That never happened with the Beautyrest. I only purchased this mattress at EA because I was buying other items. Ethan Allen has lost a customer.

Best better I’ve ever owned!

Absolutely love this mattress it is a very soft mattress so if you prefer a harder feel this isn’t for you but despite it being super soft it’s also very supportive! I’ve never slept better than I have on this mattress, I absolutely love it!!

Not worth the $$

Initially the mattress provided me with the comfort and firmness that I wanted but within 18 months that quickly deteriorated. I contacted customer service and they immediately sent a technician over to my house to evaluate the mattress. After the technician's evaluation I was awarded a full in store credit for the original cost of the mattress. I wish it was a cash refund (very skeptical about their mattresses) but something is better than nothing. I definitely would not recommend Ethan Allen for mattresses.

Horrible Investment

We have purchased furniture from Ethan Allen in the past and love the quality of furniture. I guess that is the key - furniture - NOT bedding. I was told this particular CARA mattress was very firm and a good quality. It is HORRIBLE, sagging in the middle - haven't had a good nights sleep for a while. I would NEVER recommend this mattress to anybody and I doubt that Ethan Allen would take back the mattress. A good mattress should not lose it's firmness in 4yrs.

Awful mattress...

My wife and I were having a hard time finding a mattress that was comfortable for both of us and ended up trying out this mattress while looking for a new bedroom set. We fell in love with the one in the showroom, as it felt both supportive and soft. I wasn't thrilled about dropping 2800 dollars on a mattress, but I figured it would be a good investment if we were both comfortable. The mattress was awesome for about the first month, feeling just like the one in the showroom. Shortly after though it started to sag very bad on both sides and has gotten progressively worse. At this point it is almost unbearable to sleep on. I have to sleep in the middle of the bed to get any kind of support, which is like being back in a full size bed when there are two of you. Also, the box spring makes a loud creaking when you move on the bed. Enough that it wakes the other person up.
