Hard and uncomfortable

While the Charles P Rogers Real Bed mattress seems to be assembled well, the mattress itself is very uncomfortable. Once you try to sleep on it, you'll discover it's hard, flat, and uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep on it. In the end, it's essentially a glorified box springs/base. The customer service rep's solution to this was to convince me to spend another $500 on a topper, which I did. Unfortunately, the topper wasn't that much softer, and it turns out it was non-returnable (unlike their mattresses, which makes no sense). My hips and shoulders ached halfway through the night when sleeping on the topper. When I wrote to them to ask for help with a solution, their 'solution' was to tell me to buy another non-returnable topper. Very disappointed. Needless to say, I looked elsewhere.

Caveat Emptor

BUYER BEWARE. Remember that Latin phrase "Caveat Emptor" that you hear when out making a HUGE purchase? Unfortunately, it didn't kick in for us a few months ago when we made the worst decision regarding a new mattress in our lives, the Estate Lifetime 10. First off, stupid us... don't EVER assume that the warranty offered on signs ALL OVER THE STORE, of being able to try the mattress out, applies to their most expensive mattress. ODDLY it does not. Well, let me explain exactly why: IT'S THE WORST MATTRESS WE HAVE EVER SLEPT ON, AND NO ONE WOULD EVER KEEP IT PAST THE WARRANTY PERIOD. In the store, the mattress we tested out feels NOTHING like what we have been forced to choke on. "It will break in," they say. BS. Their "soft, luxurious" flagship bed with adjustable flip top insert, is nothing but "hard" or "even harder" It has not softened. My husband and I wake up super sore EVERY MORNING. I have literally cried about this very expensive "investment". I loathe this mattress. Also, the top inserts were actually about 4" different lengths, so craftsmanship is actually also in question. I have owned many beds. This is by far the WORST and THANK GOD I KEPT my old mattress as this one is now going to have to be stuffed in a guestroom (I'm super sorry guests) or I will literally call for a garbage pick up since Charles P. Rodgers was smart enough to HIDE the fact that this mattress isn't under the trial period, and even when asked at the store, the salesperson somehow tiptoed around that fact and we didn't even pick up on it. I'm sure this won't be posted, but I will be sharing this review EVERYWHERE, so whatever. In short, the signage is misleading and so are their salespeople. I don't care what anyone says, the display beds ARE NOT the same as what is being sent home and they have no business calling the garbage we have sitting in our bedroom "Plush" or "Luxurious". Frankly, it is fraudulent!

Think twice!

This was by far the most expensive bed we have purchased and it failed within 2 years times. We have reached out to the manufacturer several times to start a warranty claim and have been lead down an endless trail of tasks to complete. Multiple photos and measurements proved our claim and they only seem to anger Charles P. Rogers. Don't fall for this company's warranty promise, it's non existent. Sadly our bed is headed to a life at the landfill.

Never Liked It, Husband Does

Since my husband has been comfortable on it, I tolerate it. I am a lightweight woman, 5'6-1/2", weigh 118 to 121 pounds, and have never been comfortable on it. I don't understand how it is deemed a "soft" mattress, it isn't! Feels like sleeping on a stack of gym mats. And, it weighs a ton, we cannot move it ~ difficult to find fitted bottom sheets deep enough, and tucking in the top sheet or blanket is nearly impossible unless a person is young and can lift the corner of 190 pound dense weight. My husband has a trim build, 5'8", 150 pounds, and suffered on our previous mattress. He has scoliosis, curvature of the spine, and our Estate Powercore Nano 2 king mattress has helped him, no more aching back. It works for him, and I'm happy about that, but be warned if you are not heavy and like a cushy feeling mattress, I suggest you look at what I bought for our guest room that I absolutely love to sleep on ~ Beautyrest Maui Series Plush Pillow Top, 14-1/2" deep. My husband naps on it, and thinks it is much better than the Charles P. Rogers. We have to get our 6'3" weight lifting grandsons to come over and rotate for us. The Rogers is a beast. Plus, we live in Hawaii so there is no warranty for it because we are outside the contiguous 48 U.S. States.

Worst bed ever

I made a deal with Thomas to exchange out my original mattress in 2020. It is a year and a half later and my mattress is sagging, I am not happy with this mattress at all. Do yourself a favor and find another mattress.

Unsupportive mattress, non-responsive seller

I've had this mattress for about a year. Bought it brand new without trying it bcause New York Times Wirecutter recommended it. Cost $2500 with "discounts" (their mattresses are always discounted with a coupon code on their site). I've never slept through the night on this mattress. It's super soft, not even medium. I toss and turn all night to try to alleviate the lack of support for my lower back. I reached out to the salesperson about 6 months after purchase to ask about options to firm up the mattress a bit, in hopes of having better support for my back. He recommended I get a coir layer to put under the topper. So I did that (cost $150, also ordered from CP Rogers). That did nothing other than to cause shoulder pain as well. One year later, I'm out ~$2600 and CP Rogers doesn't respond to my complaints. I wound up ordering a new mattress, which will be delivered this week, from another retailer out of desperation. I really just want to stop waking up tired, with a stiff back. Note that I work out regularly and am in no way overweight.

Good mattress but not so good customer service

I am a researcher by training, so whenever I buy anything I do extensive research. I needed a King mattress and I am a plus size side sleeper.I used to have a Sterns and Foster with a thick pillowtop that was great but their quality went down and then I tried an adjustable foam mattress for a couple of years but it just left me with shoulder pain no matter what I did. So this time around I tried Helix, Saatva, Casper (showrooms for the Helix, I had the Saatva for 80 days before I sent it back (great customer service). Eventually I came to Charles P Rogers. My initial ordering experience was good. The salesperson: Tina (Fulya)recommended the estate 9000 Luxury Plush King Mattress and so I ordered it. Between that time and delivery I almost cancelled however, there were hidden fees for things like delivery and setup and delays and I just about lost my patience with Tina and the company. Keep in mind I lived in New Jersey for 4 years so I am used to the quirks of the customer service in the area. Even considering that: the customer service was not professional or upfront. The only reason I went through with it is I needed a mattress (my old one was no longer an option) and due to time constraints, I needed to just go through with it. Just one example: their site says that if you put one of their mattresses on a non-Charles P Rodgers foundation it voids the warranty. Well, their foundations are ridiculously expensive. I talked to Tina about options and she told me just to order a generic foundation from Amazon for cheap. Well, I said: won't that void the warranty? Response was: I wouldn't worry about it. Well, I worried about it. And I ordered the one from Charles P Rodgers because I was spending $3000 on a mattress and wanted to make sure the company would stand by their product. Fortunately, 6 months later the actual mattress is literally my favorite piece of furniture in my house (and I have some nice stuff) as it is just perfect in terms of comfort and support. I am happy I went through with it-- but I am concer

Not as expected

From looking at the Estate 7000 diagram on the web site it looked plush and if anything on the soft side. When we got the mattress it was anything but soft, so be careful when purchasing. I do believe it is a very well made mattress and am disappointed it was so hard. Something they don't tell you is about the mattress weight, it's approximately 170 lbs so you better have someone capable if you need to put it in place yourself or when it comes time to turn it which they recommend every 6 months. We did return the mattress and I must say it wasn't nearly as smooth as they promised. After more than 1 call, because a service rep never checked on my refund status and e-mailed me back, I was able to get my refund about a week after expected which is going to cause me to carry a large credit with my credit card company which I'm not real happy about. I go back and forth on whether I would recommend the company and if I did it would only be because it is a really well made mattress.

This is our 2nd CP Rogers mattress purchase, and whilst the first one - purchased 10 years ago - didn't hold up as long as we thought it would, we returned for the service and hopefully quality. Our first night was blissful. And true to reviews, and salesmanship pitch, the support was there and we woke without the familiar back/hip discomfort; and you won't experience the uncomfortable 'heat' that many other mattresses generate. We are older. Need better support - and this mattress has it. Also like the fact one is barely aware when partner shifts or gets out of bed. So far, this mattress is well worth the price. Thank you CP Rogers!

Supportive and plush

Charles P. Rogers Estate Lifetime 3 is a perfect mattress. Soft enough to get you to sleep comfortably and supportive enough that you awake pain-free. Excellent stability keeps your partner asleep while you fidget or vice versa.
