I bought this mattress in Alexandria VA in 9/10. 14 months later, I'm just throwing it away. When I asked me daughter if she thought if I could sell it online, she just laughed. For the last 3 or 4 months, it's been useless. When I first had it, I got a wonderful night's sleep every night. Alas, after about six months, it sagged badly in places (initially on one edge, later in the center). The sagging got worse and worse. The "warranty" requires you to ship the mattress back to them, which costs about $200. Great, throw more money away. I've owned a lot of mattresses over the years (I'm 62); this one gets my vote as the worst, ever. In fact, among substantial household purchases of any kind, it's the single worst product I've ever owned. It's just too bad they do not have a zero-star category for things like durability.

My husband and I purchased the draeamhaven mattress less than a year and a half ago. By 3:30 in the morning I'm sleeping on the couch! He drives a truck, is home every night, gets up early, around 2 or 3:00. He hasn't had a good night's sleep in months. The bed sags in the center and has a hump in the middle of our backs. My hips hurt if I lay on my side because the bed is so warped. This is by far the worst purchase we've ever made. Two thumbs down!
What mattress are you to talking about? iam in the market to purchase one.

Hi Jim, we're very interested to find out what mattress you purchased and from where. Has our customer service team taken care of you yet? Have you been in contact with the retailer that you purchased from? Please let us know, we'd love to make things right!
I bought the mattress at Creative Classics, in Alexandria VA. Appropriately enough, I wrote to them on Friday the 13th (Jan 2012). Herewith the text of my e-mail to them: Dear Creative Classics In Sept 2010, I bought a mattress and foundation (queen) from you, a Carolina Mattress Guild Calming Firm 5/0. At first, it was a fine mattress, aside from an odd sag on one side (damage during shipping?). After about three months, the side sagged a lot more, then the middle sagged, and sagged, and sagged. I just threw it out (spending $200 to ship it back to them, in the hopes they would "repair" it, seemed a bad idea). When I asked my daughter if she thought I could sell it online, she just laughed. So, I paid the $28 to have it taken away. I don't know if I got a rogue mattress or if this company makes junk. I posted an online review of the mattress, saying it is not only the worst mattress I have ever owned, but the worst large household purchase I have ever made (and I'm 62, so that covers a lot of ground). Were I you, I would stop selling this company's products. Jim Collins They never replied, hardly a stirring endorsement of their customer relations. I've struck them off my list, too. From what I saw of the prices of the furniture they sold, I'm hardly surprised that they took so little interest in someone who spent only $1,000. At this point, I don't know what your company can do. I'd have to check my records, but I think I spent about $900 or $1000 on it, plus the $28 to have it taken away. I notice from another comment on the website that I am not the only person who got a problem mattress. Let me say that it is possible the mattress was damaged during shipping. A friend and I can certainly attest that the bed sagged noticeably on the left side (looking from the bottom) when it got here. Jim Collins

Jim, Again, we're so sorry to hear about your terrible experience. Just so you know for future reference, when sagging and body impressions begin, you should contact the store you bought it from immediately. It is their responsibility as a retailer to come out, survey the problem and determine if it is in fact a manufacturer's warranty. If the retailer was truly as unresponsive as you say, it is then something that should be taken up with the BBB. Unfortunately we probably also could have helped you had you contacted us before you had the mattress taken away, but without the mattress, you're correct, there isn't much that we can do. Thank you for your response, though. It is through continued research on these negative experiences that we grow as a company and learn from these mistakes. Hilary Dentler Marketing and Sales Support
As you can see from the first posting, I was informed (I don't recall whether by phone or in documentation provided with the mattress) that problems were the responsibility of the manufacturer, and that the mattress had to be shipped back to them, at my expense (I checked; it would have cost $200, as you see above), before anything else could be done. Now, long after the fact, the manufacturer's story is that the store should have handled it. I'll let readers draw their own conclusions.

Hi Jim, Getting the mattress back to the company at your expense is an avenue that you could have taken, however it is not the only one, and no literature that we provide says that. If you were told that was your only option, it was not by us. Thank you for your time and opinions! Hilary Dentler
I was indeed so informed at the time; given that it happened 8 or 9 months ago, it's not surprising that I do not remember by whom. I do believe some of the documentation provided with the mattress specifically stated that a faulty mattress should not be returned to the store, but to the manufacturer. Frankly, I doubt that I have that paperwork around here any more, given that the mattress in question has been tossed. This whole business reminds me of my effort to get into Czechoslovakia in 1972. When we went to the Embassy in Vienna, they told us to get a visa at the border. When we got to the border, a Russian-speaking guard told us, while sticking the barrel of an AK-47 up my nostril, that we needed to get a visa at the Embassy in Vienna. We got the message.
