Disappointed Once I Got It Home

Just like most other reviewers, I was extremely disappointed when I got the mattress home, and found out it wasn't as nearly as plush and comfortable as the store model in the showroom. I guess CMG produces a special, high quality showroom mattress to "trick" buyers into falling in love with their mattress in the store like I did. I even went back to the store the next day to make sure they gave me the right model. Unfortunately they did. I'm going to return this mattress before I notice any sagging or defects that other reviewers have noticed, and switch to a name brand (Simmons, Stearns & Foster, Sealy) mattress. I was going to wait for the apparent "break in" period they say mattresses have (whether that's true or not IDK), but it appears this mattress stays firmer than what you expected to buy.

Hi Mike-- Our showroom models are no different than the beds that we produce for customers -- they go down the same line through the same people and processes and are treated exactly the same. You will find with any mattress brand that the showroom model often feels different than the new bed that you will receive. Many many MANY people have sat, laid, rolled, etc on the floor models, and waiting through the break in period will help your mattress adjust to your body and give it time to become more like the showroom bed that you tried out and loved. We're sorry that you had a less than stellar experience, and we hope that you'll rethink your decision and give your Radiant the time it needs to break in!

No two customers are the same. The plush soft feeling many here are looking for and seem to find comfortable is something I would never be able to sleep on. I myself am looking for comfort in the form of firm support that allows my shoulders and buttocks to sink in just enough so that the curve of my back is supported and I feel even support along the length of my spine. It sounds to me that many of the naysayers are expecting a plush cloud like experience which, I don't believe, this mattress was not designed for. Rather than trashing the mattress, perhaps a better idea would be to purchase one that suited for you. My only peeve with CMG is that they are only available at Sleepy's or other fine pocket gougers. I don't trust mattress salesman any more than I trust car salesman. The most awful thing is that you can't find two different retails who sell the same mattress with the same name. The only advice I have for CMG is to try and establish a direct-to-consumer retail model where the prices are lower for the consumer, and the margin is higher for CMG. Take charge of the warranty service and get rid of the middle men. In this day and age CMG should be able to do on-demand manufacturing and delivery to lower operating costs, instead of this antiquated manufacturer/dealer model where the consumer gets ripped off when the dealers have warehouses full of aging mattresses that need to be gotten rid of. Just my opinion, and always worth the price paid.

This bed is NOT what is in the showroom. Unbelievable that these people can get away with this. This bed is worse than my fathers 20 year old mattress. IT stated sagging in a week or two. Wasn't comfortable from day 1. I have worse neck and back pain than I did before. Beyond angry.
