Be careful before purchasing a foam mattress

When we first tried our mattress in the store it was incredible. For the first six months it was great. About that time we noticed something changing and tried rotating the bed 180 degrees. That worked for about six more months. We tried rotating it back, but the support was just gone. I was not made aware that foam reacts to your body heat to mold around you. I was also not made aware that the foam does not stop reacting to your body heat. Now the bed feels like we are laying in a hammock. We are sore every morning. We have not even paid off the bed and are purchasing a new one. I am one of those people that is always hot. I want to say that may have been an issue with the bed becoming so uncomfortable. However, my wife is not one of those people and the same thing happened to her. In regard to the "cooling" claim. It feels great in the store, however, the mattress protector every store will attempt to sell you for warranty purposes seems to eliminate any cooling sensation from the mattress. Some nights I sleep on the floor the bed has gotten so bad. Also, if you are a person that enjoys having sex, this bed feels like we are in quick sand. Please be very thorough before spending any hard earned money on a foam mattress.

Fell short of expectations

Started out great but support declined rapidly. I have more back and neck pain from this bed now than I ever had before. Will never buy this brand or from this manufacturer again.

The most horrible overprice bed ever!

We ended up buying this $1,800 (mind you on sale) bed because we were concerned for the heating issues we heard about tempurpedic. The claims that this bed would provide quick response on movement and keep you cool were our selling points. Unfortunately after owning this piece of crap for almost two years we found, the hard way, that all the pluses on this bed were a bunch of hot air. Initially the bed was amazing, doing everything it claimed. After the 30 day break in period (of course) the thing started going south drastically. Horrible horrible sagging, no support, you wake up in a massive crater every night. When you have back problems instead of relief you sleep in hell because you wake up like crap the next day. This bed was supposed to be medium firm and now is like a pile of foam mush with a cover. I will NEVER buy this brand or from this company again!!!!

we had great expectations

We have had the bed a little over a month. We paid so much we kept our opinions to ourselves, till my husband says Ok we have to talk! The bed is so uncomfortable after you have been in bed about 5 to 10 mins. At first you feel good, then if you are a side sleeper, your shoulder starts to throb. So you turn, and your in pain hoping it will soon let up. It is hard to turn in bed. If you move over more in bed its like you are moving up on a ridge that just will not conform to you. It sleeps considerably HOT. We sleep in a very cool room and wake up sweating. Hard to get out of too. If you have a leg cramp hit you it is almost imposible to get out of without help. We have a year to return it they said, so we will be taking it back and taking a loss of $300 for a restocking fee. When I say its hot, I mean where you lay. If you place your hand on the mattress with no contact with your body it is cool to the touch. Also your legs feel like they are up above your body because you sink in the bed. We keep thinking we have to give it time to adjust, but how many nights do we have to be uncomfortable to make this bed feel better?? The other thing is the sheets and mattress protector are constantly being pulled up by your turning.

Hell killing us little by little

We spent $2500 for that mattress that is killing us night after night. There is significant heat produced in about 30 to 60 minutes where your body lies, therefore you have to move all night to avoid those hot spots! We have contacted Simmons. They don't want to include that chemical problem into their warranty saying that there is no structural problems. We wish we could afford to buy another mattress but we can't!

Not what was in store

My wife and I tried this bed in the store, after finding the Loft Sparkling Star too firm. The display of the Mystic was much softer, giving in to our bodies, but not "sinking" in. Very comfortable. What was delivered had the same brand, name, model, but was NOT the same bed. It was as firm as the Sparkling Star! What is the point of trying a matress in the store if what is delivered is not exactly the same? The store is going to order a couple for us to try, and if one is softer, we will get that one and not some other random selection from their warehouse. I am disapointed with the Simmons quality control and consistancy of their products. Frankly, all of you, if you try a bed in the store, and like it, get that exact one and not some other from their storage!

sleep like a dream

I first saw this bed at a show in Santa Rosa last summer. I was totally against all memory foam beds because I heard they were hot and you sink into a hole. Me and my wife laid down on the mattress and couldn't believe that it was a memory foam bed! It felt like a regular mattress, but it conforms to my body all night long and doesn't hurt my shoulders when I sleep on the side. I also bought the adjustable bed frame with the mattress and now I have a heavenly sleep situation. I have had this bed almost a whole year, and it's the best bed I've ever had. The price was very reasonable and a lot cheaper than most of the memory foam beds out there.
