Stearns & Foster Augusta 2 mattress?

I have not seen any reviews or comments on the Stearns & Foster Augusta 2 mattress and boxspring. However, GoodBed has received other reviews that raise some concerns regarding Stearns and Foster beds.

Can anyone help in deciding on the Augusta 2? It seems to have the requisite coils, with all the bells and whistles. I just want to make sure that the bed stays very firm over the next 10 years or so.

Thank you.

Hello and thank you for your question!

We're a dealer of Stearns & Foster and work with Sealy/Stearns & Foster to remove all the fluff foams they put in it that cause body impressions. No one else does this though! So, I would avoid the 2012-2013 Stearns & Foster Pillowtops right now because they will most likely develop uncomfortable body impressions.

The best mainstream pocketed coil / wrapped coil beds right now are the Beautyrest Recharge & Beautyrest Recharge World Class products. Beautyrest has done a great job the last 3 years running and this is a trustworthy, quality brand for 2013. We've seen zero issues with these products.

Thank you again for your question and have a wonderful day!

This S&F model uses an posture tech interlocked coil unit, like what had been used in the Sealy Posturepedic. Your problem here is the bells and whistles. A pillowtop model with a full inch of memory foam will begin to lose its shape in months. You'll be looking for a new mattress within a year or two...unless you decide to suffer with it because of how much you spent. This mattress is a very poor choice for long lasting comfort and value.
