I can't believe this mattress was purchased in 2009! I realized it was that old when I started sinking to the center. I love the top which is pristine with embroidered white and blue the Provencial model had. I wish they still had that design. Not a fan of the current mattress top.
I have always purchased Sterns & Foster mattresses for many years and never had a problem. I purchased a king size mattress 5 years ago and recently the handles are ripping off resulting in exposure to the inside of the mattress. The seam that the handle is sewn into is ripping apart. I have called the store where it was purchased and even called Sterns and Foster. The mattress has a 10 year warranty but everyone has told me the handles are not covered. If the handles rip off completely how do I change my bedding? This is a king size bed.
The store where I purchased my mattress sent a technician to my home and said even if it was fixed the repair would not hold. So what do I do now.
I and my family have been loyal fans of Sterns & Foster and hopefully they will be able to take care of this problem, if not they no longer have my loyalty.

Good but Cassatt Plush Pillow Top might make you sleep hot
Lux Estate Cassatt Plush pillow top mattress feels a little foamy. Also this mattress isolates heat a little bit even though it has so many cooling features in it or at least that’s what the marketing department of Stearns and foster wants you to think like every other mattress manufacturer. Overall it is a good mattress and has good support.
Another Interesting thing is, firmness of the mattress changes as a result of your body heat. Once you get into the bed it might feel like a medium soft and then after an hour, especially after bed absorbs your body heat it feels like really soft around the area of your body... so the mattress you'll lay down on the store will not be the softness level you'll be sleeping on... Especially after spending an hour or 2 on this bed with your comforter, all the layers of memory foam will warm up and get softer while you're sleeping on it each night.
Perhaps Stearns and foster foams are really temperature sensitive.
Also another heads up I'd like to give is about break in period... Perhaps it's New Jersey's cold winter weather but if you buy your mattress in the middle of the winter like I did. Most probably it will feel like much firmer than how it feels after a couple months(yes not weeks I said Months) ... It took a solid 1 month to soften up. So give yourself a couple of weeks to get used to.
My review is definitely not a part of a promotion program. I paid 3k for a queen plush pillow top and that's not including the box spring and a protective cover. I did not receive the mattress with a discount or something like that for my review. 99% of the reviews that you read on mattress websites are a part of the promotion or advertisement campaign. This is the most well made and comfortable mattress we have EVER Had ! There is no mattress on the market that compares to the firmness of it. However , at about year 8 or 9, we did notice slight grooves where we each slept every night. Rotating it head to foot does help, but 2 years later it was fairly worn down in our normal sleeping positions. At year 12 we finally had to replace it. (It STILL had its original firmness, just 2 noticeable grooves from all the years of sleeping in each of our normal spots) We truly hate to see it go, but was finally ready for a replacement. We ended up buying a top of the line Sealy…. BUT it is No Comparison to the quality and firmness that our Stearns & Foster was! (((Even though they are built in the same plant)))
((With any luck, this Sealy will last just 1/2 as long as our S&F did. WE WILL BUY ANOTHER S&F when we retire the Sealy, and will Never. Uh Anything else Again!

Have always owned Stearns and Foster. Always got 8 years minimum out of them. Went with this line because of the price. We got what we paid for. Three years later it's junk. It wears very uneven. We turned it every few months. It looks like a bumpy dirt road. Pillow top material is separating on the edges. Great value for the very short term but don't plan on sleeping on it for years.

Within 4 months of purchase, our beautiful Ella Grace king mattress had two distinct hammocks - one for each of us. We're not super heavy - I'm about 160 and my husband is 190 pounds. Stearns and Foster was GREAT about replacing the first mattress with a new one. Sadly, it was an instant repeat - within 4 months, again there were hammocks. And once again, Stearns and Foster was most accommodating - however the customer service person suggested that it might be better if they just refunded our purchase price and we could buy something else. So even though the mattresses were a disaster, customer service was great.

I purchased the first one in 2020. After 6 months, the middle was sunken in. SleepOutfitters replaced it under warranty with the same bed. I have had it now for 5 months and the middle is already sunk in 1.5 inches. I weigh 160 pounds and am the only one who sleeps in the bed. Would not recommend

We purchased this mattress only four years ago and it started to wear out in its third year. It sags where our bodies are. There is definitely an indentation where we sleep. We rotate the bed but can't flip it. It was supposed to last ten years but we really only got three years out of it. This was a significant purchase for us and I am very disappointed.
