Just OK

I like the mattress ok. My wife says it smells like asphalt. If that doesn’t get better soon it’s going back. Couple other things about Nolah you should know. They seem to rely heavily on their customers to do their marketing. After the sale you will be bombarded with emails asking you to make a YouTube vid, sell you friends one, etc. Millennials might think this is cool but I find it kind of creepy. Their website reviews are total BS. You may notice they only have 4-5 star reviews. I asked them why they didn’t publish my 2 star review and the answer was that a third party handles their reviews and they have nothing to do with it. I wrote back that a review like mine would have been very helpful to me when shopping and got a curt “we don’t handle that” reply. I bought a set of sheets at the same time for $149. They are not worth $49. Maybe $29. The fabric is very thin. I don’t expect them to last long in our world. The fitted sheet is so small and tight I can’t get it over the mattress after 3rd washing. Top sheet is so small you can’t tuck the sides under the mattress. The fact that they sent the wrong color is NBD for me but....yeah, they sent the wrong color. When we bought our mattress they were throwing in 2 “free” pillows. Ours went straight to goodwill. Did not make it through one night. My advice on that score would be to tell them to keep their pillows and give you $100 off the price of the mattress. Overall I would say $1K is too much for this mattress and I would definitely not buy their sheets. Or pillows.

We bought nolah after having researched for a cool mattress for side sleepers. (I'm a side sleeper. Hubby sleep on his back). It was difficult to decide but as our old mattress was memory foam we knew that it slept hot and wanted something else. Nolah's temperature foam and medium soft firmness was the major point that made us choose nolah. They advertise it as "made without the heat-trapping viscoelastic chemicals used in Memory Foam, Nolah sleeps cooler" and I can confirm that it does sleep cool. Hubby loves it and no longer wake up overheated. For me, the soft feel is the most important and I got to adopt a Clouded Leopard. My hips no longer hurt when I wake up in the morning. Couldn't be happier and only complaint is that they don't make pillows with this foam as well :(

I returned it, but here's why that's not a bad thing

I bought this mattress and returned it, and although that might sound bad, I was happy I gave this mattress a try. For others who are thinking about this mattress, I do think if you are a side sleeper who has slept on memory foam before, and likes a soft but slightly firm, that this could be right for you. Nolah made the process of returning the mattress easy, and their customer service always responded same or next day. So here's my overall review. I was getting my first memory foam mattress and had looked around and found this company I had not heard of called Nolah. I decided to give them a try because their product is made in the USA, and was said to be great for side sleepers. I liked how easy it was to ship and setup. I think if I had already been sleeping on a memory foam mattress, I would have loved the Nolah mattress, but having slept on innersprings my whole life, it was a big adjustment. I didn't realize how much I needed a firm mattress. Much of my family enjoyed the Nolah mattress though, and said it was inviting and cozy. The reason I rate this mattress so highly, is that they stand behind their product. And they have a great customer service team. If you are thinking this mattress matches your sleeping needs, I would say don't be afraid to try it, they made my trial process easy.

Too firm for this side sleeper

I bought this mattress because it was advertised as good for side sleepers, but I found it to be too firm. My shoulder didn't sink in and often experienced pain. I think the two inches of air foam is too little. Three inches might be better. I won't be keeping this bed. It didn't seem to get hot, but that is probably because it doesn't really cradle you or cause your body to sink in. And you need to sink in to get the pressure relief. I'll probably try a Tomorrow Sleep bed next. For now, I'm back to my old system of a Queen-size innerspring mattress with a 3-inch memory foam topper.
