Mattress cover not as claimed

Brentwood Home claims their mattress cover is bamboo with wool lining. This is incorrect. The law tag states 100% polyester. Dealing with customer service is a headache. I strongly recommend avoiding this brand and their deceptive marketing practices.

Too Firm Not as Advertised

We spent hours on this site and others comparing mattresses. We wanted a firm mattress and didn't want memory foam. Mattresses like Bamboo we tried in the showroom and they generally felt too soft and unsupportive. We are both heavy and the "firm" mattress we were sleeping on was so soft after six month it felt like we were trying to get out of a boat every morning. So, the reviews for the Brentwood being firm seemed good for our needs. I felt confident purchasing it because the reviews said it was very firm but Brentwood advertise this mattress as Medium Firm. My partner is a back sleeper and is happy with it. I'm a side sleeper. I wake up all night long with numb arms and fingers and pain in my shoulders. I wake up every morning with chronic pain in my hips shoulders and sometimes even my legs. I wrote to customer service immediately and they said well that's our firmest mattress, have 10% off our mattress topper. Im so angry that I have to spend $600 on a mattress topper to make my mattress work. I feel like this mattress is misrepresented on the company site. Knowing what I know now, I would only buy this mattress if I was under 100lbs.

Moving from firm to soft

I had been sleeping on a Magniflex extra firm mattress that was 10 years old and really having a lot of restless nights and tension/stress pain. I am 51 and going through menopause, so I don't blame the mattress as much as getting older and hormonal changes. So I decided to try a softer mattress with better pressure relief, even though I do really prefer sleeping "on" my mattress rather than sinking in a lot. I don't like memory foam -- it feels hot to me, and I don't like sinking so much, so I focused my search on latex. I also like a little bounce in my mattress and want good edge support, so started looking at latex hybrids from several brands. The Brentwood Home model appealed to me because it's made from so many recycled materials, and is theoretically recyclable at the end of its life. I bought the medium version. I've had the mattress about two months now. At first I was concerned that it was too soft -- but remember I was coming from an extra-firm bed. It just took some time to get used to the new feel. On the plus side, my tension/stress pain in my shoulders has gone away. I think I am moving around a lot less (since my covers aren't all over the place in the morning), and I am waking up less frequently. I do feel a little hotter at night -- but frankly that could be largely because of the onset of menopause, and not necessarily the mattress itself. One weird thing is that the mattress really never puffed up enough to fill the cover -- it's kind of loose and the corners of the bed seem a little compressed even now. It just seems like the mattress cover is a little big/loose for the mattress (the height measures the correct 12"). For context, I am 5'4", 140 lbs. I do not sleep with a partner so can't answer questions about motion isolation. It is definitely pretty bouncy (which I like when I do have a partner). I do tend to sleep right on the edge, and while the edge doesn't seem super strong, I haven't felt like I'm sliding off or anything. I have the mattress on a platform with a bunkie board.

WEARS OUT FAST! Warranty misleading

I agree with the others who have stated that this mattress wears out ridiculously fast. We have had the mattress for less than two years, and my wife (a slender woman with lower spine issues) can no longer sleep on it because she wakes up with back pain every morning. The mattress has sagged and no longer provided even reasonable support. It was very comfortable at first. But a mattress should last much longer than 22 months, especially for $1300! Customer service said it has not sagged enough to cover anything. A total rip-off. Don't pay attention to the favorable reviews - it only feels comfortable for a little while before sagging into mush.

Lost its firmness and buttons extrude after 13 months

On 05/01/208, we had the Oceano Mattress delivered to us, and we absolutely loved it the first year. The mattress is advertised as the #1 rated luxury with a medium-plush feel. Thirteen months later, the mattress lost it's medium-plush feel and became uncomfortably soft to sleep on. Not only that, the fabric buttons that are anchored onto the mattress extruded, which can be felt through the mattress pad and bedsheets, causing pain when I would move around. I reached out to customer service, and they sent me a complimentary Oceano Memory Foam Mattress Topper, which is really helpful covering the buttons, however, not with the firmness of the bed. Before I purchased the bed, I had spent three weeks researching mattresses online, watching videos, and read 5-star reviews before choosing this mattress. The reviews on their website are misleading. I am unable to log on to Brentwoodhome.com to leave an honest review. I want people to know that this mattress has issues, and they should not spend their money on it unless they do not mind their bed losing its firmness in less than two years. I now wake up with cervical and spinal pain due to this bed. I honestly wish I listened to my husband before I purchased a mattress online.

Not for Arthritic or Spinal Issues

I had hoped this mattress would provide me relief, but it is a failure of a design. Before one month after my purchase this mattress has a sunken hole 6" or more in the middle and I am in constant pain. This mattress has caused a slip disc in my back and neck with spinal burning. My hips have so much pain that I can not function. When I sleep on my side, stomach, or back; this sunken area has misaligned my skeletal structure and I am twisting and turning so much that I wake up tired all day even though I have been seemingly sleeping for 8-10 hours...
