THE WORST MATTRESS AND SOUTHERLAND WARRANTY IS A JOKE

I purchased this mattress approximately 14 months ago. After about 3 months, it began to sink in the middle. When 2 people sleep in the bed, you literally have to hold yourself to the side to keep from falling on each other in the middle. The store I purchased the bed from raved about how the warranty was just as good as tempurpedic, 20 years for defects. When i started trying to contact the store and manufacturer, southerland sleep, i got bounced back and forth for months as they each passed the blame to each other about who would cover warranty issues. Eventually the store went out of business and i had no other option but to deal with the manufacturer. They had me take these ridiculous pictures of broomsticks and measuring tapes all over the bed, pictures of the box springs, which required me lifting the mattress that weighs 3 times what i do. When i sent the pics in, I recieved a letter back stating since they could not see a body impression in the mattress that they would not cover anything. I explained to them that there was no body impression, that it was only when people slept in the bed. I even went so far as to take a pic of someone laying in the bed where you could clearly see it was sinking. They said the only thing I could do would be to send them back the mattress on my own dime and let them inspect it at the factory. I paid $1500 for this mattress, it would cost nearly half that to have it sent back to the manufacturer, I would have no bed to sleep on, and I have no guarantee that they will agree to give me a new mattress. I would never buy a mattress from Southerland. We will see what they say when they receive a letter from my attorney!!!

Unfortunately the manufacture is responsible for the warranty and not the retailer. The retailers will often assist you as a courtesy but they are not required to do so. The warranty state a 1.5 inch or more body impression or sag, therefore neither you or your attorney will accomplish anything there.

Im having the same problems with cantacting sutherland the are asking me for the measurement. I would have never thought buyin a $1000 mattress you would have problems like this. I left like 10 messages with no response and I emailed them tell them I didnt appreciate no being called back. They replied backing asking for the pics and measurment. This company sucks and their products suck !!!!!!!

Shame on any company asking to validate your warranty claim! (insert sarcasm)

I am having the same problem with their requirements which are off the wall. I have damage on my fifth lumbar (tail bone), and as I told them I cannot do what they ask I AM 69. I have tried to sleep in this memory foam Matress (it's a set). When I wake up in the middle of the night cannot get out. My bed is a positional electric bed and I have to put in a complete upright so I can get out, and I sleep in my recliner. So what did I pay $1800.00 for a bed I use so seldom. I was told this is their requirements. More or less take or leave it.THE COMPANY WHERE I BOUGHT IT IS OUT OF BUSINESS. Nobody to represent their warranty, not even the new Matress company.
