Store trial OK and firm but told it was softer from trial use. Mine would be harder but soften in short time. It has, after only one month, right in the center. Edge much firmer and more comfortable than spring area, sags at hip line on 140 lb 5' 2" gal. after an hour use. Our heads slip down off pillow. Only two layers of foam on top of springs gives husband (5'10" 212 lbs.) a feeling of sleeping on an egg carton. Got an iSeries Expression, (hardest mattress) put a thick pad on it and he is fine. I put an additional box store 1" foam topper on my side and with the mattress support and the added softness it's great. Beats the iSeries Promenence for a grand less and no more back ache.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the iSeries collection. In regards to the sagging in the center, please make sure that your bed frame is providing the proper center support that extends to the floor. For reference, please see our online warranty brochure: http://bit.ly/1K1Zdqr
I failed to mention that the Vantage and Expression are both twin mattresses on separate Motion Essentials II frames. We have them side by side making them into a King and have yet to explore the advantage of having adjustable frames. I believe the Memory foam topped by a Gel foam does not give enough support by themselves on the Vantage. It is my understanding that ALL other Serta's of this type innerspring have memory foam of differing amounts including the "pillow top". Am I correct? They all, except the Expression, seem to let the body's weight sink into them making us feel like we're trying to roll up out of a ditch when turning over. The shoulder and hip sink too deeply causing the head and legs to feel raised as when in a hammock. The Memory foam does not restore itself fast enough to leave no indentation when turning back into the same area or being out of bed for several hours.
