Coughing all night but mattress is comfortable

The "Off Gassing" from the mattress is not tolerable by a person with sinus/allergy problems and sensitivities to strong odors including perfumes. I picked this iComfort mattress because the other foam mattresses were smelling really bad in the show room and I did Not notice any smell from the iComfort in the showroom. I think this problem needs addressed so people can figure out how to get rid of the odor fast before using the bed. The salesperson was great through our whole experience and the delivery was fast and excellent. I love the whole bed but am trying to figure out how to get the odor to go away. I can't find information on the internet or the manual about getting the odor out. I recommend this mattress for comfort but it needs aired out before sleeping on it.

I bought one on Feb 3, 2013 and will receive delivery in a week. The salesman suggested we spend some time walking on the mattress. Each step compresses the foam and expels air. When it expands, expelled air is replaced with fresh air. For faster results, get the whole family involved !

I believe the idea of walking on the mattress is good because after using the mattress a week and airing it a day, it is so much better.

Susan you can purchase a no chem food grade mattress wrap I did...I have mcs illness... It does smell like a nonscented parrafin candle.. but it does not make you sick from chemicals and it contains the chemicals and fire retardent in your new mattress..that is why I got it.. It fits up to 15 inch thick mattress, so anything under 15 inches will slide into the No chem mattress wrap.. just google No chem mattress wraps... that is all I know to help you or others as all new mattresses will outgas and are full of chemicals..even childrens mattresses and baby mattresses.. To get rid of the smell, just have a few kids jump on the bed or have dogs run on it or otherwise get "air" into the foam. You can also try FABREZE or scent your sheets or mattress topper and put it on. We line danced on ours and did some exercises such as sit ups and the smell went away quickly.
