Worst purchase ever

We purchased this mattress after trying a few other mattress and in hindsight we should have gone with a traditional box spring mattress. This bed felt so comfortable in the store and my daughter also had an ISerta that she loves. However the mattress we received did not feel like the model in the store which was softer and more plush. I cannot sit up on the Accumen as it causes back and hip pain and I cannot lie down as I literally sink into it and cannot move. I only weigh 140 pounds. Needless to say after paying the ridiculous price of $2,400 I am sleeping on a cheap $500.00 mattress in my guest room. Will never ever purchase a bed from a mattress store again as too difficult to exchange.

Hi Anna - we're sorry to hear the Acumen was not the model for you, as we take customer satisfaction very seriously. A brand new mattress may feel slightly firmer than the model you tried in the store. This is because a brand new mattress has never been exposed to normal wear, whereas mattresses on a showroom floor have. We recommend speaking with the retailer to discuss your options if you have not done so already. You can also email us at SertaCare [at] serta [dot] com with your contact information and store/location of purchase if you'd like us to look into this further. Good luck!

Best of luck to you all they did for us was a string measure across the mattress I understand no one wants to lay in anyone else's bed but how can you truly tell if a mattress is defective if you can't find some other sort of testing? how irresponsible we will never buy from this company again nor from Bedmart.

Hi Anna,Perhaps no one has mentioned this to you.The Serta Directions "Acumen" bed comes in 2 models. The Acumen Plush "soft" & the Acumen "firm".The difference is a whole lot.The plush has gets a 4 on comfortscale & the firm a 7 or 8.That's taking in a chart where #1 is the most soft & #10 is the most firm.So a 4 if you'd gotten the Acumen Plush is like a meduim soft.I actually laid on the what I believe was the Serta Directions "Acumen plush" at a Sears. It's the bed I found to be the most suiting for me so far.Perhaps the Serta customer service didn't entertain the idea that you maybe received the Acumen firm instead of the Acumen plush? There is no way the Acumen I laid on was too hard.So its a shame you didn't realize there were 2 different Acumen models ragarding firmness.I should work at Serta customer care, lol.I hope you found what helps you sleep the best, good luck
