Aches and pains

I was so looking forward to receiving my new Mezzanine mattress and 3" slow response active fusion topper. I previously had an "S" brand mattress with built in topper which after only 2 years has sunk in in the middle (the fiber fill material shifted outward) making some nights less than comfortable. Let me take a step back... I typically spend many hours researching large purchases and this time was no different. I read online reviews, went to a variety of mattress dealers and tested a variety of mattress styles (coil, foam, latex etc..). After a couple months of research, and finding generally good customer feedback, I decided to purchase the Pure LatexBliss mattress. I bought the bed from Sleep Works on Long Island. Pure LatexBliss only has the one authorized retailer in my area (actually about an hour away as I live in queens) but I made a couple trips to that shop to check out the Pure LatexBliss mattresses. I ordered in mid November and late that month I received my new mattress. The first night of sleeping on this mattress I awoke many times throughout the night and by morning I was extremely sore and achey all over, especially my lower back and neck / shoulders. I thought maybe it will just take a few nights to adjust, I just need to give it time and then I'll sleep through the night. Unfortunately that didn't prove to be the case. (and still hasn't to this day) So, I decided to call Sleep Works (where I purchased the mattress) and ask them if there's anything they can do to help. I believe I spoke with Sarah and when I explained my problem with the new mattress she told me that unless the mattress sagged by more than 3/4" there is nothing they can do. I'm simply stuck with a very expensive brand new mattress that I do not look forward to sleeping on. Yay! :) Sleepworks accepts no returns unless it meets the defective criteria noted above. So this was a no go. Next I contacted Pure LatexBliss directly where I spoke with Michelle. She was very friendly but ultimately said that this sounds like a "comfort issue" and not a defective product issue. Well, it may be a "comfort issue" but it's one that has resulted in repeated bad nights of sleep and it's extremely frustrating. This purchase, and this entire situation, has left a very bad taste in my mouth and at this point I just wish I had my old mattress back, not to mention the large amount of money spent in search of "comfort". My advice, only buy from a retailer and / or manufacturer that offers a trial period (without any fine print). Unfortunately the only authorized retailer for this brand of mattress that's even remotely local to me in NY does not offer such a trial. It's also unfortunate that Pure LatexBliss has not been able to help resolve my issue. I have paid the price but let my mistake be to your advantage.
