The great divide

The divide in the middle is an actual ridge after a short time. I find the most comfortable time in bed is before my husband gets there and I can lie crosswise; otherwide you roll towards the edge of the bed because of the ridge; have almost rolled off two times. We did try a different firmness as a option of Selden's exchange program but that did nothing for the underlying issue. I would NEVER recommend this bed to anyone and even though we paid $2200 for the mattress alone, I really think we are going to need buy something totally different. What a waste of money. If you need two different firmness options, please try a different method of achieving it.

Pros:

    Cons:

User also said: Division between sides is elevated/ridge; impressions in the mattress from you bodies are very obvious; it actually results in pain.

    which model was it?

I don't know the name but the paper work says it is Stock Number 8287-QM. It really wouldn't matter because they are all constructed with the "two sides". The ridge is the problem.

I bought the Kingsdown My Side mattress in Oct. 2012 spent over $2500 and boy is there a ridge. We started off with a #5 and #6 side firmnesses. It's February 2013 and I hate the mattress, the sinking feeling, the inability to roll over without effort and the ridge!

We bought a Kingsdown mattress 4 or 5 years ago and paid $4000 because we were told it would be the most comfortable mattress we ever slept on. Wrong!! It was find for a while, except it was a little more firm than I prefer, but my husband was happy with it. We have been having increasing problems for the last couple of years. First we tried a foam mattress topper. That helped for a short time, but them even that was wasn't helping so we took it off again. I have Fibromyalgia and Arthrititis so I hurt when I get up, but now I can barely walk when I get out of bed. I hurt so bad that I have to take pain medicine as soon as I get out of bed. My husband, who is in very good health, also complains of pain in the morning. When we have stayed in hotels occasionally, we both sleep better, yet it is not a very comfortable bed. In our bed at home, we both have our little "groove" we sleep in with a big hump in the middle. We are both miserable, but the store we bought it at is no longer there. I am having trouble finding how to contact Kingsdown to find out what to do.

Our Warranty was LT ("For as long as Kingsdown product is owned by original purchaser") At the time it was bought it was excellent but it started sagging across the middle. We called Levins Brass Beds where we purchasd it and an independent person was sent by Kingsdown. He measured the sagging of the bed and it was "jus"t at the acceptable level. (Meaning there WAS SAGGING) So NOTHING was done. "LIFETIME TO ORIGINAL OWNE"R evidently does not apply NOW. If it was just at the ACCEPTABLE SAGGING LEVEL you can imagine what we have now. And we turned and flipped the mattress every three (3) months as stated in the brochure that came with it. The independent person also told us that if there was even one spot on the mattress Kingsdown would do nothing/not accept it back. So when it's time to buy a mattress go with another brand!! Kingsdown does not stand behind their product or THEIR WRITTEN WORD

We bought a Kingsdown King bed in 2009. It is now just about 5yrs. old. We have a big ridge in the middle and it is quite sagged out but not to the 2" according to the rep of Kingsdown who came to our home, therefore no replacement. It is so uncomfortable. I ache after I get up and my husband can not get a sound sleep. We do the turning of the bed like we are supposed to. We are now looking because we can not stand it anymore. In our opinion, not a good bed to buy. Kathleen Lux of Canada in Grande Prairie, AB

Our Kingsdown is 2 years old. Same story, it has become really soft where we sleep, so complete loss of support. But because the sag isn't permanent - it springs back - it is not considered a problem. As others have said, we were willing to pay more for what we were sold as a premium product. So a waste of money...it is so uncomfortable.
