Signature Helps MS Sufferer When Warranty is Honored

We had a mattress from International Bedding that turned out not to be a good one. However, an occasional lemon will happen. Thanks to Melissa and in particular, Anne, at International Bedding, our warranty was honored on the "lemon" and it was replaced. We were offered an up-grade to a Dr. Breuss since the mattress we had is one of the beds IBC no longer manufactures. I am not an old person or a large person, but my body has been through a lot in my short life time. I have multiple sclerosis, carpel tunnel in both arms, bursitis in my hip joints, and I've had two disc fusion surgeries on my neck, not to mention a massive heart attack, bypass surgery and multiple stent implants in arteries. My husband, too, has had disc fusion surgery on his neck. Because of the disc fusion surgeries, my left shoulder is impossible to sleep upon. The point of the shoulder always feels deeply bone-bruised. Because of the bursitis and multiple sclerosis, it had been impossible to lie on my right hip. The MS would cause my right leg to go numb within seconds on my old mattress. Since I also cannot sleep on my stomach (don't ask why!), I am left with being confined to sleeping on my back. But this too had been a painful experience since one of the features of multiple sclerosis (otherwise known as the MonSter to sufferers of this incureable, and ultimately fatal, central nervous system disease) is that one is always left feeling as though one is sitting in a vat of hot oil. In other words, the butt burns intensely and constantly. The first night on the Dr. Breuss Signature bed, I slept all night for the first time in years. Before, resting my elbows on the mattress would have sparked my carpel tunnel to wake me in pain so severe I'd sit straight up in bed and gasp, even though I wear braces on my hands. But the Signature bed is soft and supportive. Not once did the carpel tunnel wake me, as it ALWAYS had in the past, every night without fail, usually several times. What a relief. Some may think the bed too soft, but it is not. It is just soft enough to relieve pressure points that cause pain and just supportive enough to provide a weightless feeling that relieves pain. I still can't sleep on my left shoulder and they'll never make a bed that allows me to lie on my stomach, but I can lie on my right hip for a few minutes now without my leg going numb. I can sleep on my back with far less burning sensation and pain than what I have experienced in the past few years. My husband would like the bed to be a bit more firm than what it is, but he says he likes it, and judging by listening to him sleep, he sleeps well on it. I don't believe any bed can completely get rid of all the pain in a body that's been through what mine has. But the Dr. Breuss Signature bed has given me an opportunity to find one inviting place in my home where I can have little or no pain for a space of rest, and for me, that is a blessing I cannot find words to describe. Thank you so much, Anne, for recommending this bed!!

Where did you purchase the Dr. Breuss mattress?

By Anonymous on July 30, 2012

My husband and I bought a Dr. Breus bed in October 2011. We have never had a better night's sleep! The bed is awesome. I hate to get out of it in the mornings as it is so comfortable and have been late a time or two to work because I lingered in this bed, just enjoying it's perfection and comfort. It really does give you a "zero gravity" feel and relieves all stress to any pressure points. It is "temperature neutral" in that it neither sleeps hot (like a Tempurpedic - ugh!!) nor cold. From reading reviews on the Dr. Breus beds, people either hate them or love them. Of course, we love ours!!! I think that some of the dissatisfied folks are the ones that buy the mattress with the topper on top of the mattress. Buying the model with the topper when talalay latex is the top portion of the mattress anyway has to be overkill. I think the topper model makes the mattress too soft. The model without the topper has just the right amount of softness, but still gives plenty of support. I can't say it enough - this is the best mattress we have ever bought and we are so pleased with it. It is wonderful to get a good night's sleep every night on the most comfortable mattress ever made!

Hello -- If you bought your IBC mattress within the past two years, you may be in luck, as it was probably made by King Koil (aka Comfort Solutions), not IBC. In that case, their contact info is here: http://www.goodbed.com/mattresses/comfort-solutions-king-koil/#about If it was in fact made by IBC, you are in a much tougher position, since that company no longer exists. In that case, your best bet is to contact the store where you bought it and perhaps they would be willing to help you out (although they aren't actually required to do so, since the warranty is offered by the manufacturer, not the retailer).
