I'll take the couch

At the store, I laid on this bed and it seemed pretty comfy. The plush look and the $400 price helped me feel that this was a quality mattress. However, I didn't even last one night on it. The mattress quite literally hurts. I placed 2 foam mattress pads on top of it half way through the night. It helped take away the feeling of laying across door knobs but made it quite obvious that there was not good support in this mattress. An hour later I flipped my brand new mattress off my bed and replaced it with the mattress from the couch hideaway bed so I could get some sleep..though I've always hated sleeping on the couch mattress....it is better than sleeping on Five Star Mattress's Esteemed Collection Special Edition bed.

Pros:

    Cons:

As a point of reference, ANYTIME you get a new bed your body is going to take a little time to adjust especially if your last mattress was playing out, so I'm not sure how you can blame this mattress or brand after one night??? Second of all spending $400 does not really mean its quality or has the right support for you. I don't believe in spending crazy amounts on a mattress but a $400 mattress is only going to get you so far and for the research I've done on this manufacturer, you got way more for your $400 than you may have with others. I wish people would think before they review and use some logic.

My previous mattress is still far from played out, I needed a different size. I returned the 5star mattress for a much cheaper one, and granted it is not of great quality, it is more comfortable and I lasted through the night. I don't feel like I'm sleeping on door knobs. I agree with you, this cheaper mattress took a little time to adjust. But how do you allow yourself to take time to adjust if after a few hours it hurts so bad that you physically cannot stay on it longer than 1 night? And that IS the point of the review. However when I returned it I did find out why it feels like that. The bed I bought was a pillow top mattress. I always thought that an advertised pillow top mattress meant that there was an added pillow top to the mattress. This was not the case. It was the pillow top portion directly on the coils. I was told by the salesman/owner that I what was looking for the mattress AND pillow top, which was the next grade up from what I originally bought. I'm sure I would have been much happier with this model however I wasn't going to pay an additional $500 that this store was charging.
