Mattress is undersized, Customer support is discontinued

While we are very happy with the sleep quality, we are very unhappy with the mattress size. Our "Queen" mattress measures 58x76. This is more like a slightly bloated full-size mattress (56x75) and is not a queen size (60x80). Did you find the review mattress to be undersized? Or is ours defective? Reading more critically on-line, we see many end-user reviews complaining of undersized "box/on-line" mattresses (not Awara specifically, but across all brands). If this is an industry problem, then it would make sense to start including mattress size as part of the review. To date, Awara customer support is MIA. Calling customer support results in a computer generated voice message indicating that phone support has been discontinued. Their website "Chat" javascript is void (using multiple browsers) and they are not responding to emails. This makes me wonder if this company is about to disappear.

Much Less than Manufacturer promised

I had been having problems with standard innerspring/foam mattresses. Not comfort but allergic reactions to foam. After much investigating decided to try Awara. Got mattress put on my box spring and waited for it to recover from packing. It had arubbery smell which became less but never left. Also 13" mattress was never taller than 11". On one side I could feel springs through latex so I rotated it. Next the mattress was "Ice Cold". I have no idea why. This subsided after a couple of weeks. Though I only tried sleeping on it about 3-4 times. I called company within the first week. They offered to send another mattress because of Manufacturer defects... I declined wanted to return it for refund. They told me I had to wait 30 days to start that process. So I waited and slept on old twin bed is spare room. Chatting with customer service to get this info took me 2 chats lasting 3 hours each mostly wait time. After 30 days I was told to send pictures and because they could not set up a p/u in my area (chgo suburbs) I had to get 1-800-Got-Junk to pick up and pay $139.00 - which they have not and will not refund. I suppose if I got a good quality mattress from Awara to start with- the comfort level was okay...but bad construction and slooooow customer service made this a very long month. Would definitely NOT Recommend!!

BEWARE refund difficulty! Nice mattress, too firm.

Mattress arrived within the expected time (1 week). It was fairly easy to get out of box and set up. No smells. It quality and looks nice. The first night, my back hurt. The second night my partner told me he felt stiff and that the bed was too hard, too. I sent Awara and email and got an auto response of receive email from Nectar (?) I called Awara (two days after getting mattress) and was on hold for 30 min. (turns out to be average for them), and was told that the refund policy says you have to try mattress for 30 days before applying for refund. The website does not state this. Fine, I asked them to add a note that I was not happy with the mattress and requesting refund. Note that I didn’t get an email reply for three weeks. At the end of the 30 day’s Trial, I called Awara and left my number to be called back. After a few hours someone called and told me I could start the refund process by sending photos of the mattress and the mattress tags. The call was followed up by an email. I promptly replied with pics. After a day with no reply I sent another email and asked for a confirmation. Finally I got an email that said send pics of backside of mattress (this was not asked for on the original return form). I promptly relied with pics (fyi the mattress is standing in my small living room for three weeks while I’ve been sleeping on a blow up while I await my refund). No reply from Awara/Nectar so I call. I am on hold for 45 min before it hangs up and says “No reps available.” I would not recommend this mattress because the trial is looking like a scam—you have to fight and kick and invest a ton of time in your refund if you’re unhappy. It’s too bad because they appear to have decent products (though manufactured in China FYI). Please be advised.
