**To other reviewers - wait for a year before posting!!**
We took delivery last February, the 100 days was the appeal, a decent trial we thought, as do so many who have reviewed here and elsewhere...but, 100 days is the time this damn thing needs to settle, soon after, its a different story.
After about 6 months, we started to notice distinct dips where we lay. When you tried to move you found yourself unable to. Eventually after about 10 months we found the foam had weakened, its viscosity had reduced which meant you sunk so far, the "comfort" layers were doing nothing, and points like shoulders and hips were just resting on the firmer foam beneath. After a while (for a side sleeper) this becomes very uncomfortable. Both my wife and I after 11 months, actually experienced pain in the tops of our arms and hips we associate with the mattress, proved by getting a better nights sleep on the sofa, where I have been for the last week.
When we got it, it was firm and you got that wonderful memory foam sinking feeling it was great, a year down the line its as soggy as the sponge I do the dishes with. A GOOD mattress should last at least 5 years according to all manufacturers, but it seems Eves lasts 1. So I have no choice, take the new one, sell it (half the value of new) if I am lucky, or use it again and go through this ALL over again in a year!!
So I mail them, we do an email ping pong for 3 weeks, taking pictures of me and other random items on the mattress, despite me pointing out that time / body heat / room temp will affect it, they agree that there IS a defect, from a picture of my feet standing sunk into it by 12-15cm rather than the guide of 2-3cm (lol). No refund (yes its in their terms) so there goes £650+! Instead, they want to replace it with another, so in a years time we can go through this ALL over again, wonderful.
So we arrange a day, but I insist the removal and replacement come together, even though they say it normally will be on 2 separate days. The reason, I don't want to take 2 days off waiting
I had researched mattresses for about a month and liked the price point and sleep trial of the online mattress space. Eve stood out to me because of its price point and established success in the UK.
My husband describes it best by stating it feels like you're sleeping on a sandbag. There is no "push back" feeling of support. It is not a too hard or too soft issue, but a lack of body support.
I'm not saying that this is a bad mattress, I am only accounting for our experience. I'm a 200lb female who needs relatively strong lower back support, and the Eve has none; regardless of sleeping position. My husband is a bit lighter than I, and woke each morning experiencing increasingly worse shoulder, hip and backpain.
The word "woke" is relative because during those three weeks we hardly slept. There was a lot of tossing and turning, getting up to walk around, and overall struggle to make it through the night. Sometimes, after failed attempts to get comfortable, I'd go sleep with my kids knowing I needed to get some rest for work the next day.
Now, I understand that there is an adjustment period for a new mattress that many times you just need to just fight your way through, but this experience only continued to get worse for us.
So far the customer service has been responsive and pleasant. We're returning ours and are going to try a hybrid or go back to innerspring.
