Mattress was warranted for life. I told them I had my own box spring they said that would be fine. It is a sprout latex mattress and has sunk 2 inches in a bowl in the middle. Purchased at healthy bedroom in Edmonton. Now they say the warranty is void because I did not buy the right box spring. My box spring is in good shape and flat. Am not happy and will have to by a new mattress but will not be a sprout mattress.

Cons:

  • Surface Integrity
  • Warranty Claims

Hi Yvonne -- Thanks for sharing your experience here. I would recommend checking the text of your warranty itself to see what it says. In most cases, buying a specific box spring to go with your mattress is not needed -- only a solid, well-supported surface is required to maintain the validity of the warranty. If this is the case with your warranty, then the only dispute will be over whether or not the box spring from your previous mattress fits this definition. This may be hard to litigate with pictures but if you can show that the box spring has no visible signs of sagging when you lie on it without a mattress on top, then this should certainly be the beginnings of a compelling case IMHO. I hope that's helpful.
