A waste of money

The Beautyrest Birmingham mattress set was purchased on February 6, 2012. It was initially a very comfortable mattress but my husband and I started to notice body impressions in the areas where we sleep at about 9 months of using this mattress. Shortly therafter, we both started having back pain as the impressions and lumpiness got worse. It is now May 2013 and the mattress is just awful. This was such a waste of money!

What did you get and do you like it?

I haven't purchased anything yet. From all my reading, mattresses today are not well made. I've been told to not buy anything with less than 950 coils and to be careful of the guage size of the coil wire. I'm hearing that even some of the the higher priced mattresses can be a piece of junk. We are "fighting" with Rooms to Go to get them to replace our current mattress. At this point, they are refusing. They sent a Rooms to Go representative out to measure the sag. The rep measured the sag to be 1.25 inches. On a relatively new mattress, that seems significant to me, especially when the mattress in uncomfortable. The the customer service department says the sag has to be 2 inches. I think the industry standard is 1.5 inches according to most mattress manufacturers. I don't think a mattress guaranteed for 8 years should be sagging in less than a year, so I'm escalating in rooms to Go as high as I have to go. By the way, Simmons would not help as they say that Rooms to Go handles there own warranty issues. For the record, Rooms to Go, nor Simmons, will not get any more of my business.

We purchased the same mattress and have the same problem. We have to large sink holes after 2 years of use. We have rotated the mattress regularly as suggested. It has not helped at all. I will never buy this type of mattress again ever.
