After sleeping on it first night, very sore! However, sometimes it does take a little time for the body to adjust. It seems to be somewhat firm but this particular mattress does not asborb pressure points on my body. ( I weigh 145 lbs. to give you an idea of weight for this mattress.) I am use to a very frim mattress but so far, my old one is way better than this new one. Have had Simmons Beautyrest Quilted Birmingham Plush mattress one night and very sore. Did not sleep well. Hoping my body will get more use to it after a few more nights. Even tho my back needs a firm mattress this is not the mattress for me. It could be a little more firm in the hip/back area. When we picked it out in the store, I thought at that time it was comfortable with good support. After sleeping on it first night, I no longer feel that way about the comfort. (I realize this is asking too much but wishing I could find a mattress extra soft on the shoulders but extra firm on the hip/back areas.) Also, I personally, am not a fan of the pocketed coil design. There seems to be a lot of marketing for this particular design. Simmons uses pocketed coils in most of their innerspring mattresses. Overall - I am not happy with my purchase and may have to go back to my old mattress. If I buy another one, I will most likely go with Sealy Posturpedic Firm if they still make them and hope for the best. To me, Simmons feels like a cheaper line of mattresses. But other people may be very happy with Simmons. My husband seems to be fine with this mattress so far. The research I have done online rates Sealy as one of the top mattresses rated by consumers. I have also slept on Sealy in the past and have had good luck with them. I can not rate the durability of the Simmons mattress because we have only had it one day. But so far, I personally would not recommend it.

UPDATE: I am the one who commented on the Simmons Beautyrest Quilted Plush mattress above. (Birmingham) I have slept on it 2 weeks now. It is more comfortable and my body has some what adjusted. But it still does not provide enough support for my back and hips. I do have back problems and need a very firm mattress. For someone who does not have back problems, this may be a good mattress for them. But I am still not happy with it. I will give it another week but am afraid we are going to have to go back to our old mattress. But after sleeping on the Simmons mattress a few weeks, it is now confortable! It actually feels very good! But bottom line, it is not working for me due to not being firm enough in the back/hip area. Although, I no longer have shoulder pain which is a plus - it is softer than my old mattress which helps my shoulders. I'll continue to try it one more week but am thinking I'll still go back to my old mattress because my back is way more important to me than my shoulders and I need that firmness.
One more thing.....the title of this mattress says it is a Birmingham Plush Super Pillowtop. However, my mattress is the Plush but NOT the Super Pillowtop. In fact, the mattress I did this review on is called, "Simmons Beautyrest Quilted Plush" which is posted in my comment. For whatever reason it fell under the title of Plush Super Pillowtop. A pillowtop would be even softer than what I have.
