Hot and stinky

Firstly, if you are naturally a hot sleeper do not get this mattress because it sleeps very warm--to the point where you will need an under-the-sheet bed fan to keep cool. It seems that no foam mattress will ever really sleep as cool as a traditional inner spring one. Secondly, they advertised this mattress as being made of organic materials that have no odor right out of the package. Do not believe this. The odor was so powerful that after just a few nights of sleeping on it I had to put it in a spare bedroom and get my old mattress back out (which I had fortunately had the foresight to keep temporarily). Fortunately, after about three months the odor does seem to go away as it gases off. If you like a soft bed I think you will be disappointed in this mattress. Yes, they offer three firmness options but I am not sure they are calibrated to a traditional mattress. I am a larger than average man so I went with the medium firmness to make sure it had enough support. Well, goal accomplished. Imagine laying two average bedspreads on top of one another on top of an average carpeted floor and sleep on it. That is about what this bed will feel like. Hopefully you can follow my analogy there--it's hard. I still regret not taking the company up on their 101 night full money back policy and thus am now stuck with this mattress unless I want to give it away for free....which I am tempted to do. It's not all negative though. The mattress is lighter than a traditional one which makes it easier to move around when needed. The quality of the fabric on the outside of the mattress appears to be very good. I can't speak for internal material quality though. It does not transfer motion much at all which is good. Bottom line--this mattress is much more expensive than the other mail-order comparable beds on the market at this time. I thought I would have received something a bit better overall than those competitors offer. It really is just a cube of foam with a fancy pattern stitched into the covering.
