Good mattress but misleading satisfaction guarantee

The mattress sleeps great and I am quite happy with the quality of the mattress. After our home was nearly destroyed by a storm and having spent months waiting for repairs, we moved back in and purchased this mattress to replace the one ruined by rain. However, this king size mattress was nearly 10" more narrow than the previous mattress and shorter as well. It does not fit the king size bed. My bed would require custom modification in order to properly fit this mattress. When I contacted the company about this issue, the person I spoke to was very rude and explained this was not an issue that the company would consider for warranty or exchange. I was very shocked by their behavior and lack of any consideration whatsoever, but after having gone through such an ordeal we decided to simply cut our losses and use a thicker comforter over the mattress to cover the gaps. It's a shame that a company with such good reviews and great products would fail so miserably to even show a bit of understanding, much less any hint of concern for quality customer service.

Joe, I appreciate your responding to my review. Moving back into our home after the storm damage was repaired was so very overwhelming, especially with having to sort through everything we needed to replace and such. This mattress was the first thing we bought to make our new start and I must say it is certainly comfortable. I have had no issue whatsoever with the comfort of the mattress and have even recommended your mattresses to family and friends. Admittedly, the entire ordeal was such an overwhelming and stressful experience for my family that a nice mattress was literally one of the biggest things we were looking forward to, especially for myself after having spent 3 months sleeping on a sofa bed in a hotel. I wish I would've reached out further to someone else within your company, but with everything else I had to deal with at the time, it just seemed easier to cut our losses on the mattress rather than pile on additional stress and things to do for something that was "not a warranty issue" and seemed to be a rather fruitless pursuit based on my initial telephone conversation with the manager of your store. I don't have any correspondence to offer, or even a name, it was a telephone conversation that took place about 13 months ago. I'm not normally one to complain, but I was asked for a review and thought if this might help someone else to at least check into the measurements of their bed, or help your company better train your employees to handle customer service issues, then it would be worth the time spent to write up my experience.
