My body tends to get "trapped" with this mattress making it quite difficult to change position from say one side to another or even from sleeping on back and moving to one side. The conforming nature of the foam is the cause of this one problem as it is, in my judgement too soft and I would feel more comfortable with a firmer surface that would allow me more freedom of movement. Because of severe back problems, I wake every morning with bad sciatica which overwhelms for a while until I am up and about longer... not so much low back pain but real sciatica that goes down the back of BOTH legs. Even if I sleep on a very firm surface I have the same morning results...

William, can you tell me what you have the bed sitting on?

By Joe Alexander on September 6, 2016

It is on a metal bed frame with center rib and legs and 3/4" furniture grade plywood on top. It is a hard rigid surface. And I would still wish for additional edge support. It is pretty squishy to me. It is difficult for me to change position at night due to the conforming nature of the foam surface and my body sinks in. A firmer surface would make it easier for me.
