I purchased a Dr. Breus Signature bed from Sleepy's. I was assured by sales people including the district manager that the bed is made of all natural materials including only natural latex (primary ingredient) and soy. The documenation/sales materials in the store states the same. I am allergic to polyurethane which is the main ingredient in the foam used in many beds today. I was assured this bed contained none. For this reason, I was willing to pay a significantly greater amount of money. After investigating further and reading the federal law materials tag on the beds, it turns out all of these beds actually contain over 50% polyurethane foam and most models much more than 50%. I I wanted a run of the mill polyurethane foam bed, I could pay half the price. Buyer beware.

Law labels are only required to show what is in the upholstery layer, what you are physically touching. So yes they were wrong to say it didn't contain ANY polyurethane, however the rest of the bed is soy based foams & talalay latex. You will never see a complete bed breakdown on any law label, so understand there isn't 57% poly in the entire bed, just the top layer (maybe 1" total.)
All beds will contain some poly foam in the bed. Read the law labels for yourself and buy what you feel is best. Blaming the retailer is passing the blame. Your the consumer take responsibilty for your own purchases.
YOU ARE SO TOTALLY WACKED ANONYMOUS COMMENT... (sorry, but comments like that really rattle my cage) If you work in a retail store you should definately know your products and if you don't you have no business working there. I am so sick and tired of incompetent sales people who are only interested in selling you something and not knowing what they heck they are selling. Yes, a little research on her/his part would have been a big help, but the only fault that was made was that she trusted his supposed expertise. Isn't that what Sleepy's should know!!!!...... Give me a break. Listen Heather, go to an organic mattress store. Savvy rest, Southard or OMI are good choices. You pay a higher price, but the mattresses are awesome. Also check out Suzanne Sommers new book- its an eyeopener. Wake up world... Hey we are in this together people so don't be so pompous.. And by the way anonymous, not ALL beds contain polyurethane.....LynneRNC
I thought foam was a rubber product... Why do the sales people keep talking about soy based foam? I thought it should be rubber based.
As a very unsatisfied owner of Dr. Breus Monogram Queen mattress set, I can state that what you try in the store is not what you get at home. Sleepy's makes many statements about the product which turn out to be false once you receive the product. Once the mattress is in your home, they want nothing more to do with you even when the product has gross defects. I've spent the better part of the last year trying to get them to honor our 20yr warranty with no results. We've even tried getting a replacement directly through Dr.Breus.The result of that being that we have been stalled by them for four months claiming they have a new manufacturer. When you've spent $2k on a bed, you should have some legal recourse to get it replaced when it's poorly constructed/defective. All I can advise people to do is look at companies that have a proven track record with quality mattresses. Most of all, never buy from Sleepy's since they do not back what they sell.
I love my Dr. Breus Bed which I purchased from Sleepy's and Sleepy's does back up what they sell most definitely. I look forward to sleeping and waking with no back pain no neck pain, just utter ectasy. After spending thousands on different brands Dr. Breus is the only bed to ever ever ever buy. I LOVE MY DR. BREUS... AND YES IT IS NATURUAL. CHRIS FROM NEW YORK
