Although the top cashmere layer feels nice I didn't notice it through the mattress cover and the bed sheets. The bed has a lot of give and feels soft when you sit up or lean into it significantly. The "inner layers" make the bed feel quite nice. My dislikes came when lying on the bed and the feel of the top layer. It felt firm to us when we were in the prone position. It felt like we were resting on top of the pillows and so I could feel the slightest pressure points along my body. The grooves between the tufted pillows are quite pronounced so when your leg goes down into them or crosses across them it is noticeable and, for me, made for uncomfortable body positions, at least dor my extremities. It was just enough of a tweak in my body positions to make it hard to relax. I did notice the memory foam sensation under my back and rear when I woke up in the middle of the night and in the morning. There was a pretty good depression that was comfortable but hard to roll out of. I am not a fan of this type of memory foam feel. Perhaps I would have gotten used to it but I am trying a latex hybrid also from Brentwood Homes and liking it more. Two other comments: Customer service was great and the mattress had a noticeable/significant chemical smell that dissipated over a week.
