Worst Quality Ever - Horrible Craftsmanship

About 16 months ago, my wife and I bought a mattress and box "spring" set at MattressFirm (n Austin, TX) which ran us close to $700. That was a negotiated price where I was able to get $100 - $150 off. A month into ownership, it started to creek like a door without oil and it didn't matter if it was us or our 50 pound son. In addition, the pillow top mattress got a bulge in the middle of it. We contacted MattressFirm who said they couldn't help us and to contact the manufacturer. I called your customer support number. I spoke with a customer support person who after about a literal minute, told us there is no warranty because it's our fault that the box "spring" and pillow top mattress is in the condition it's in. How is it our fault I asked and the lady suggested that we were letting our kids jump on it or having "unnatural adult intercourse." What the hell is "unnatural adult intercourse???" Rough sex??? The lady was rude as hell so I hung up angry and figured we're stuck with it. Last night, we were completely fed up so we removed the box "spring" and placed the mattress on the floor. It was the quietest night sleep we had in over a year. This morning, I pulled the box "spring" apart and what do I find, a box "spring" with no springs! The wood is rotted in several places, support beams were broken and it was made in part with cardboard! There is no flame resistant material. Heck if anything, it resembles what we as teenagers used to use for a bonfire. What angers me even more is the opening statement on your website which says: "We work hard to provide your customers with the highest quality mattresses at the lowest possible price." Well hell, we know why your prices are so low now don't we! Is this even legal, I thought you were required to put out products that were resistant to fire, non-combustible? I intend to post pictures on a number of media pages including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, KIK, etc. I've already created a condemning video as well which I'll post to YouTube and other similar sites. I intend to contact a local Better Business Bureau branch, CBS 5 Investigates, MattressFirm Corporate and every other vendor / outlet possible if this is not rectified appropriately because this is misrepresentation of quality. I have not been this mad as a consumer in years!

I am very familiar with the Corsicana brand, and the model you bought is made exclusively for Mattress Firm with the intent of just trying to hit a price point. They buy them at a discount direct from Corsicana, these beds that the Mattress Firm runs are only produced for them, not the mom and pop retailers. Mattress Firm buys them at a discount with no factory warranty and they will sometimes stand behind them if they feel like it, sounds to me that in your situation they obviously didn't. It's not Corsicana's fault on this, Mattress Firm buys their least expensive foundations, that by the way you are 100% correct in that there is no fire barrier in them and can not be sold in California because of that reason. Chances are your mattress has a bulge in the center due to the foundation not supporting the mattress, I do have to ask though if you have it on a steel bed frame with a center support system, three legs down the center for a queen, four legs and a center beam for a king? A lot of people do not even realize this, but without that center support system, no bed no matter who manufactures it, and how much it costs will stand up without that support down the middle. You should be upset with Mattress Firm, not Corsicana, I own a mid line Corsicana bed myself ($699 Eurotop with pocketed coils), and love it.

I agree, your issue is with Mattress Firm for not properly telling you what you are buying. NOBODY puts "springs" in box springs anymore. Some boxes still have steel supports but none of them have coil springs. Wood + cardboard is a very common design for low cost foundations/boxsprings. Corsicana sells both wooden and steel boxes but the steel ones are more expensive. Every product Corsicana sells has been tested to pass government standards for flame resistance. It is too bad Mattress Firm didn't educate you on this, but also maybe you should have asked more questions before buying the product.

Our matress has the same issue stay away from this. It is so noisy. Do research before buying next time we would be better off with sears or some big box store instead of the high priced matress store selling us junk. We are scared to have sex on it because it makes so much noise.
