After quite a bit of research, I took a chance and bought a twin-xl original PacBed Gel mattress on-line through Bed In A Box. I am very happy I did so. I also purchased a simple wood platform bed, which was easy to assemble, as a base. The Regency Mattress Pad I bought to go with the mattress is plush and complements the mattress nicely. From the first night I have found this mattress to be extremely comfortable. For me at least is provides just the right amount of support and plush comfort. Bed In A Box advertises this as a "medium firm" mattress in their line. As a side/back sleeper, I no longer wake up with shoulder discomfort as I did with my old mattress. I haven't quite decided yet if this mattress is going to be too warm, as it's winter right now. If I find that it's a little warm during spring and summer, I can always purchase one of Bed In A Box's Outlast cooling mattress pads. In summary - this is a great mattress. No regrets with the purchase. I highly recommend this mattress.
