The mattress did smell initially and it took a while before the memory foam fully expanded. I rotated and even changed positions so I never slept on one particular side and even in the middle. However, it got worse trying to get out of my bed over the last six months and I noticed there is a noticeable dip in the middle of the mattress. This is why my back has been in so much pain. I now have my SI joint acting up and it is unbearable to walk.

I’ve been sleeping on Marshall mattresses (best individual pocket coil mattress) for 40 years; have purchased new mattresses 3 times over 40 years. Have always been extremely happy with the mattresses, and would never want to try another one long-term, as I slept on others in the next week as good as the Marshall.
Purchased this mattress a few years ago, and I feel like I died and went to heaven. It is the most comfortable, relaxing supportive, heavenly bed that I have ever slept on and, believe me, I am extremely picky. If I’m not happy with the bed in a hotel, I leave the hotel and go somewhere else.
I wish this bed could be shipped to Canada!

Same as the previous reviewer, edges gave very quickly. Exchanged this mattress 3 times and ended up keeping the 2nd one as it was the best of all 3 we tried. Even got a foundation replacement and it didn't help. I really like the bed, but you shouldn't slide off when you sit on the edge of the bed.

within 3months the edge supports broke down. Felt like falling out of bed. The store exchanged it for another. Same thing happened and store changed out again and this time got their foundation as they said it might be the problem. Within 6 months the edge supports were gone. I'm now looking for another type of mattress. I will not get latex again. Another problem with latex is hard to get sheets to stay on tightly also heavy to rotate.

This review is based on the Stress-O-Pedic Chateau Series Latex Bed sold to us with the Liggett & Platt adjustable foundation. The adjustable foundation is WONDERFUL...we are keeping that. The Stress-O-Pedic Mattress is the problem and this review is based on that only.
We were told this bed was a total rival for a Tempurpedic type of bed. We were also told that the Latex was a better way to go. NOT SO!
Within 3 months it sagged so badly, you'd fall out of bed if you were anywhere near the edge. The center developed a HUGE lump inbetween us. We both woke up throughout the night to try and get comfortable. By morning, we couldn't wait to get out of bed because our backs and legs hurt so badly! We were actually more comfortable sleeping on the couch!
They took the bed back once and just filled it more, but within another month of getting it back, it did the same thing. Everyone that saw the bed could not believe how bad it was.
I called again for someone to come out and see what they can do for me. They said they will send a third party company out to do an inspection of it. When the third party company called, they offered to come out on either the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Years Eve, as they work a regular full time job and have to do this on their off time. So, I'm supposed to sit here waiting for another 2 months until they can come out mid January??? No. I'm done with Stress-O-Pedic! This is the worst bed ever! After reading other reviews, we decided not to keep fighting with them to make it right. I don't consider this a fair warranty.
We went out and finally purchased a Tempurpedic Bed and we should have done that from the beginning! We sleep well all night and we wake up refreshed in the morning! No more backaches or leg problems! It's the BEST!
Lesson learned....don't try to shortcut....buy the best one from the beginning! The Stress-O-Pedic is going to the dump today! Can't wait for the truck to get here!

After only 4 months of use this mattress is already sagging in the middle. I am not a big guy or a heavy guy and was very surprised about the sagging. I have even tried to sleep near the edges of the bed, but the slope that has already developed causes me to migrate to the middle. The pull of the slope now makes the bed uncomfortable. I am writing the company to see about a replacement. At first I really liked the bed as it was very comfortable. But I would hope and expect that it would have lasted for years before sagging in the middle!!
We purchased the Chateau Cashmere on the third try from the Stress O Pedic company. The first 2 mattresses were horrible and had body impressions on the first 3 days.
We couldn't return the mattress for a refund as they let us exchange it twice. The Chateau Cashmere was pretty good the first year but now after exactly TWO years there are body impressions in the Euro Pillow top that are giving me backaches. We were told that the Euro Top wouldn't develop body impressions like a regular pillowtop..
I wanted to buy a Latex mattress at the time we bought the SOP but none of the local dealers carried latex. So now I am in the market for a Talalay Latex mattress but I see that Strearns and Foster and Sealy both use Synthetic Latex and Englander is the only brand I can find that uses Natural Latex. Does anybody have any suggestions ?? I live in Ventura county, CA.
