Why all the negative reviews of Aireloom?

I love my really old Aireloom mattress, but I am reading so many complaints about Aireloom mattresses sagging that I don't know what to do about replacing it. I've never slept on any other mattress, but all these negative review have me troubled and a bit turned off. I was going to buy a new one today, but now I'm not sure. Can someone please help me with my decision? Thanks.

There is a lot of confusion about sagging versus body impressions. Many of today's top quality mattresses use extra plush foams and fibers to create comfort layers designed to cradle your body and relieve pressure. Body impressions are typical and do not mean that the mattress is defective/sagging.

I just purchased an aireloom bed today. It will be delivered in a few days. I am really worried now that I am reading reviews online. It was more money than I intended on spending for a mattress and now I feel like I may have made a really bad decision.

My wife and I finally bought a new mattress after many years, and decided to buy an Aireloom, top of the line mattress. Within 2-3 months, one of the sides kind of collapsed. Getting out of bed the bed was easy, because it was like a slide. The Furniture store was great about it and replaced it with the same model/brand. After two weeks, the same thing happened with the new mattress. Same side, even though we had spun the mattress. (So the tag was in the opposite corner.) Neither of us are heavy people. I think the batch of Aireloom mattresses that we received are from the same lot or something, and it's unfortunate because we spent a lot of money on it.  I am now waiting for the furniture store to send another inspector down to verify that this bed is indeed faulty. My 3rd replacement will NOT be another Aireloom.

I completely agree! After only four years My husband and I now wake up with back pain every morning! I didn’t spend thousands for a bed to only last four years. It has major sagging/body impressions/or whatever you want to define it as!!! Even with regularly flipping it.

I just bought one as well.   I hope not.  It really is like being on a car lot.  It is one reason consumers want to buy online.  The salespeople will tell you ANYTHING.

I bought an Aireloom Feathertop mattress in 1979. It had a 20 year warranty but was comfortable, even luxurious, for 30 years. I made a point to rotate it as often as I could, maybe every 90 days. It is still being used by a relative although now, 40 years later, it has lost its useful life. It was a high quality craftsmam bed.

We purchased the Aireloom Emerald Queen bed set in 2012. Although it cost more than double what we intended to spend on a mattress set, we were reassured by the 20-year warranty backed up by the company. The bed afterall looks plush and is very comfortable when it first comes out of the plastic. After the first 5 years of use, and many rotations, the bed has a sag. We are not of unusual size or weight, and we don't jump up and down on the bed. So this was not expected. We have contacted the company twice in the last 10 months complaining about the mattress performance. Each time, they sent an inspector, who conducts various measurements on the mattress. And, each time, the determination was that the mattress did not have enough sag for the warranty to go into effect. THE ISSUE IS THAT NO MEASUREMENTS ARE TAKEN WITH ANY IMPRESSIONS OR WEIGHT BEARING ON THE BED. No matter how unsaggy a bed looks when you're not laying on it, it's worth nothing if it sags with weight placed on the mattress. In order to cash in on their "warranty", you have to sleep on a SAGGY MATTRESS for years, until it sags so much that their NO PRESSURE/NO WEIGHT measurements reflect any kind of sag. You think you're getting a high-end product that will last you 10 or 15 years, but it's worth less than a cheap mattress after a few years. We are very disappointed in the deceptive 20 year warranty.

Really wanted to love this expensive mattress. I’m 43, 115 lbs. But the memory foam forms a body impression that doesn’t recover for hours and you have to pull yourself over to firmer spots. When I get close to my spouse I literally roll into him. Forget about reading in bed if you want a chance at some back support for the first hour of the night. I suppose if you fall asleep and don’t move it at all it might cradle you well. I was having back ache within three weeks but thought it was just aging. After a month in europe on a variety of hotel mattresses I noticed I was no longer waking with pain! The mattress looks brand new though after 2 yrs and when you drape across it to test it during the day it feels like a heavenly cloud. Too bad you fall through the cloud at night. Looking for a new mattress already.

I Absolutely Hate my Aireloom mattress! It is the most expensive mattress I have ever bought and the worst. I actually wake up in pain from sleeping on it. I bought it at Cardi’s furniture and they wouldn’t take it back after the 30 days promised.
So I’m stuck with it. I thought I was buying a superior product. No way! I’ve slept on a lot of different beds over the years. This mattress is like sleeping on cement. My son is in the Army. I gave him my bed to sleep in and after a couple nights he preferred the couch. My husband sleeps in our guest room upstairs bc he hates this mattress! Run from anyone who suggests buying this mattress. It’s So Bad! I can’t say it enough!

Purchased a new Airloom for more than we typically spend on a car because we thought it would improve our lives and give us more restful sleep after having our first child. Something we both direly needed.  Within 3 months the bed was unbearable because of loss of support.  The bed “sags” at the hips so much that my body becomes a “v” with my feet sticking up at the end of the bed while laying on my side.  Of course when you get up the bed returns to normal because of memory foam. Absolutely a piece of trash. Our 10+ year old second hand couch sleeps better.

Wow! I thought I was the only one! Guess not ! I could of wrote all the same complaints as well.Our Bed is now 8 years old and have hated it since day one 
First I was sent wrong model. Soon after receiving my very expensive bed I was already complaining about the body impression or sag as well as those dang buttons ! Here I am 8 years later after back surgery and crying because I’m falling in a hole I am looking to buy a new bed I was a person who had to  endure I just could not afford to buy another bed .

I agree with the negative complaints.  We spent more than 3,000 on the Brookdale bed and after 1 year we started sinking in.  Two ore years and we’re looking for a new bed.  Bitter knowing that there’s no way we’d get an exchange out of the store we bought it from because of the ridiculous standards they set in place to constitute a failing mattress.  If my daughter is sleeping in the middle of my husband and I, she rolls into one of our sink holes.  You do not lay on top of this mattress.  I can’t see my husband on his side of the bed because we both sink down so much... I have to fight to sit up to talk to him.  It’s too much work to sleep on this bed.  Don’t buy an aireloom.

Save your money on this over priced pile of garbage... saggy like sleeping in a hole ...2 years and I’m forced to buy a new bed because my back hurts constantly ... I don’t even want to try and use the warranty because I wouldn’t even want another bed from airloome

I hate my Somerset aireloom mattress since my first night of sleeping on it. I went to the store a week later and told them the bed I got delivered didn't even feel remotely close to the one I tried out in the store. So I spoke to the Manager and he told me I should walk on the bed to break it in. He also told me I had to wait the 30 days before I can change it out. I told him I didn't want to suffer in pain another 3 weeks in pain. We walk over to the bed show room and I laid in the same bed again, the showroom bed felt incredibly amazing and a manager told me it had just been switched out 2 weeks ago. so I asked them why doesn't my bed feel like that and he gave me a B.S. story. I spent over $3,500 on this bed and I do not recommend it to anybody it's already starting to sag and I've only been sleeping in it for 3 weeks. my back my hips my shoulders are an incredible pain everytime I wake up in the morning nobody should have to suffer for 30 days before being able to swap out a bed. I have an Aireloom mattress and it is not at all comfortable.  It has depress quite a lot and I wake up all night long trying to find a spot that does not sag - the mattress is 4 years old.  I rotate the mattress every 3 months - it does not help.  I should never have bought this mattress.

Thanks so much to all the reviewers.  I hope you find your way to better sleep.  I wanted an Aireloom Maui Firm Queen, but so far, Mattress Firm has not made good on its “comfort exchange” policy.  Unlike many I do not love, love my TempurPedic ProAdapt Medium, but will keep it for now.

I got sucked into buying an Aireloom 3 years ago by it's beautiful design and amazing plush feel.  3 years later I'm still getting sucked in, but not in the good way.  I literally have to hoist myself out of the pits that now form in the bed while I sleep.  Mancini's Sleep World told me that was "normal wear and team."  I have major back pain due to how terrible this mattress is and am in the process of buying a new bed now.  I never imagined a mattress of that "caliber" could be so terrible.

It does actually take a good month for the mattress to feel like the one you tried in the store. EVERYTHING new you buy in the furniture business will feel the firmest when you receive it and will relax after a bit. I LOVE aireloom!

We spent up too and bought an Aireloom from the platinum collection, expecting that spending more would result in a superior sleep. Not the case - my wife started complaining of sagging after a few months. The retailer even sent someone out to inspect who agreed there was an issue, but the retailer wouldn't replace it. Fast forward, it's a bit shy of 4 years, and I've been living with back pain for the past 2 years. I thought it was due to some injury, but after reading these reviews I'm amazed that others have experienced the same thing - I thought our mattress was just faulty. I find immediate relief when sleeping on other mattresses away from home. What a bummer! Will definitely pick a mattress with an extended trial period this time.

I personally am skeptical of these reviews and kind of feel like they’re almost an astroturfing attack on the brand.
Airelooms have sold for a long time and you almost never hear any negativity from customers in person.
To the point that they are an industry standard in customer service, craftsmanship, quality and so on….
Suspicious to me that only online, the arena aireloom participates the least in, that you suddenly see cookie cutter negative reviews that feel like theyre astroturfing….
I know I’m a pot calling the kettle black but I would personally ignore this whole thread….
These mattresses are beloved by almost everyone I know who bought one.

Just bought this mattress and had it delivered yesterday!  These reviews are quite disheartening to say the least.  We bought an extra firm Redford Aireloom.  We had spent a lot on our last mattress and my back began to hurt on year three.  After six years we decided to try again.  We hadn’t planned to spent so much this time but the salesmen raved about the mattress.  Hope we don’t have any problems!  It is definitely hard right now.

I also bought my Aireloom Ravinia Luxetop mattress in 2013.  I bought it because of back and hip pain.  It relieved my hip pain immediately and continues to do so.  I continue to sleep on it with great satisfaction.  I bought the queen size and sleep alone which has allowed me to switch sides of the bed that I sleep on so perhaps this is what has contributed to the mattress lasting such a long time without sagging.  I do know that using an adjustable bed frame that allows the user to elevate the legs or head will exponentially degrade the coils and support system of any mattress made with coils or springs.  They told me this when I bought it.

We originally purchased the Super Featherbed by Aireloom in the 1970's.  It was wonderful and we were beyond satisfied.  Expensive but wonderful.  Then the Company was sold to a German man who..... thought he could improve on it. 
We bought one more mattress after the company buyout and it was one of the worst mattresses we had ever slept on.  
They even had one of the earlier/original mattresses in the White House Lincoln bedroom - that was how popular it was.  Hard to believe some man thought he could improve on perfection.

We bought an aireloom mattress in 2015. After 4 years, I can not stand straight in the morning. I bought it from Mancini. They send an inspector and did the usual string test and their feedback was that indentation is less that 1.5"? Basically they measure the zero weight condition and that is it. Lesson learnt dont buy from Mancini and don't buy aireloom.

Our Aireloom bed is the worst bed that we have had in 50 years. Directly after purchasing it 2 years ago, my husband and I experienced pressure pain.
We diligently turned the bed to no avail.
We were assured that the bed was wonderful. I kick myself everyday for not holding out and buying a Marshall mattress or looking further afield. 
We are off today to replace this 2 year old bed.  What a shame.

Yes, Kluft is a scam. I have only had mine for two years. They never sent an inspector out. I had to put a stupid ruler and broom to show the problem. That doesn’t work because my bed is so fluffy and it’s after I have slept on it where it sinks in. Do NOT buy an Heirloom Hermosa mattress!!!

Purchased Fiji Aireloom Mattress Jan 21, 2021 for $5,000. It now has horrible body impressions in less than 1.5 years that make our bodies ache horribly. Filed complaint as instructed on warranty & inspector was sent out immediately to do inspection. Five days later, received 'denied' response & addendum to their non-existent warranty to buy a 'Bunkie Board'. What?? Spend more money??? They indicate impressions are not 1.5 inches & that body impressions are to be expected. So sad we spent our money on this crap!! This bed looks beautiful! But, you must cover it immediately, so the beauty will always be hidden. It will sag on both sides & have huge lump in middle. We turn this heavy bed every three months to comply with warranty. E.S. Kluft & Co., will never honor this 10 year warranty & lord knows we tried everything including writing to CA Attorneys General Office. We are seniors who thought buying this very expensive bed would be our last. So not the case!!! Kluft will be extremely rude to you when you call & make you feel unimportant. They got your money, all your money!! That's all that matters to them. Don't be suckers like us. Run, run far away!! Be assured this not a bot writing this review, but a real live, mad as a hornet human!

This mattress is overpriced. We bought the Aireloom mattress because it was supposed to last for up to 20 years. Unfortunately, after a few months the mattress began to sag and became very uncomfortable. Back, hip , shoulder pain is not what I call comfortable.
We are trying to return it because it is under warranty. But they have you there.
You pay the freight to return. Horrible!!!

We bought an Airloom and for the first year it was great. By the second year there were indentations where we slept. It's gotten worse and my back can't take the lack of support anymore. I have a pillow under me. Now my husband and I are larger people so I expected it would happen - but not after a year. We had our old Sealy for 7 years before it did this and it was half the price. I will never buy this brand or any so called luxury brand again.

I purchased an air loom mattress back 1n 2013. Loved it for first 3 years, now I'm having to turn it every 3 months, because of sagging and losing back and hip support . I filed a claim through Mattress Discounters, for someone to inspect it. They are telling me if it does not meet certain criteria, that theres nothing that can be done. I would think that Airloom would want satisfied customers and hope that mine gets replaced, with no hassle.
