“Bad Mattress”

Pros:
We liked nothing about this mattress.
Cons:
How it wears in a short amount of time and how uncomfortable it is on your body.
  • Purchased in Jul 2009

When this mattress was purchased in July of 2009 it was comfortable for about 6 months. We have now had it for two years (about a year and a half too long). Then we both started having back, shoulder, neck, hip and all over body pain. The is a poor quality of a mattress for $1200.00 plus dollars. The middle of the bed has a big hump and both sides where we sleep has big holes. I am only 105 lbs and my husband is 160 lbs so we are by far not too fat. Hope this helps to anyone that would want to buy this type of mattress. My advise don't buy this it is a P.O.S mattress.

Pros:
Very comfortable twin bed.
Cons:
No con's.

This is my Daughter's bed that she got second hand. I am looking for this same mattress in a queen size. I would rather have this mattress than our duel number sleep bed. This mattress was made in 2001 and is still in perfect condition. I can not rate the value on this bed as we did not pay for the bed when we got it a couple years ago.

“THE WORST MATTRESS AND SOUTHERLAND WARRANTY IS A JOKE”

Pros:
There are absolutely no pros about this mattress. It starting sinking in the middle 3 months after i purchased it.
Cons:
Sinks in middle, terrible support, havent slept well in this bed in over a year.
  • Purchased in Apr 2010

I purchased this mattress approximately 14 months ago. After about 3 months, it began to sink in the middle. When 2 people sleep in the bed, you literally have to hold yourself to the side to keep from falling on each other in the middle. The store I purchased the bed from raved about how the warranty was just as good as tempurpedic, 20 years for defects. When i started trying to contact the store and manufacturer, southerland sleep, i got bounced back and forth for months as they each passed the blame to each other about who would cover warranty issues. Eventually the store went out of business and i had no other option but to deal with the manufacturer. They had me take these ridiculous pictures of broomsticks and measuring tapes all over the bed, pictures of the box springs, which required me lifting the mattress that weighs 3 times what i do. When i sent the pics in, I recieved a letter back stating since they could not see a body impression in the mattress that they would not cover anything. I explained to them that there was no body impression, that it was only when people slept in the bed. I even went so far as to take a pic of someone laying in the bed where you could clearly see it was sinking. They said the only thing I could do would be to send them back the mattress on my own dime and let them inspect it at the factory. I paid $1500 for this mattress, it would cost nearly half that to have it sent back to the manufacturer, I would have no bed to sleep on, and I have no guarantee that they will agree to give me a new mattress. I would never buy a mattress from Southerland. We will see what they say when they receive a letter from my attorney!!!

“Worst Mattress Ever!”

Pros:

Cons:
Absolute worst mattress ever. Sunk over 3 inches in less than a month.
  • Purchased in Jun 2008

The poorest constructed mattress I have ever had the misfortune of owning. The mattress sunk in over 3 inches in less than a month. My wife and I both had horrible back and leg pain from sleeping on this horrible pos. The box spring/foundation also squeeked like crazy and sagged. My wife and I are of normal weight. I wouldn't recommend a Southerland to my worst enemy.

Pros:
None
Cons:
Huge crater in the middle

The first review was obviously written by a Southerland employee because this is a truly awful mattress.

Like the other reviewers, mine sunk in the middle within several weeks (I'm 190 pounds) and the exchanged mattress from my local store did the same.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy this p.o.s. You're better off sleeping on your living room floor.

“Bed Broken in 12 Days”

Pros:
The mattress is inexpensive.
Cons:
Sagged over 3 inches only after 12 days.
  • Purchased in Mar 2011

I bought a new Southerland Brentwood mattress and box spring together. It was like $427, including tax, with $100 taken off the sale price.

The mattress has already sagged over 3 inches in the middle when I lie on it after 12 days of use. It's brand new and is broken down. I sleep in the middle of the Full size mattress. My weight is about 220 pounds for a grown male. I moved to the edge where it's still firm, and now my hips roll sideways into the hole in the middle and create horrible sleep.

Very unhappy with this brand of mattress. Will not do an exchange for another Southernland mattress as I'm sure it will breakdown soon. Going to do a store credit for a Simmons so I get something I know will last at least a little while.

Pros:
Price was low, but that explains the poor quality.
Cons:
Breaks down within a few weeks.

I purchased this mattress set, and the top mattress broke down after a few months. The retailer replaced it with the same model, but this one broke down even sooner. We are not overweight, but this mattress has broken down so much that you can see outlines of our bodies! I guess you get what you pay for.

Pros:
comes in a few options a split where it is half firm and half soft or all firm or soft
Cons:
I have no Complaints!!

This is the most amazing bed I have ever slept on!!! I have Scoliosis (a condition where your spine has curviture (it is supposed to be straight)!!) I have to see a chiropractor daily. I have never been able to sleep through the night until NOW!!! This is the TOP OF THE LINE when it comes to mattresses!! I am so comfortable and actually getting a full restful night sleep and I never thought I would feel this good again!! And one of the best things is I am only having to go once a week to the chiropractor, They have seen amazing results with my new bed!!
