Corsicana Halifax

Very soft, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being firm, I would say this mattress is about a 5. Very comfy. It has 1.5 inches of quilt foam on top of 3 inches of the good tempurpedic type foam. you feel yourself squish down in it slowly over the first... Read more »

“Forty year old mattress/better than this one”

  • Comfort: Way too soft

  • Pressure relief: Good
  • Temperature: Just right
Pros:
Selling Approach.
Cons:
Maneuverability, Return Policy, Surface Integrity.

The salesman at "Bluebonnet Furniture" went way beyond his description of this Corsiana mattress and hoe it had 720 coils and I would never feel your partner getting in and out of bed. He just failed to say that it would be much softer, when you remove the plastic that it was sealed in, So please take my word ,I told Mr.... over and over that I needed a firm mattress, he knowing this still told us this was the mattress I needed. I have written the mattress company and received an e-mail today telling me it has to have a one and a-half inch impression before they would consider warranty, and I would have to go back to the dealer I bought it from,No way,
So please make sure you trade with a reptiablle mattress company that will stand behind their product. I feel like I would just air my experience, and "Hopefully" save someone else from making the same mistake I've made $1100.00
thrown away.
Hope this will save someone, also it is very hard to handle ,it is 17" deep and no handle to help you lift it .

Cons:

Bought this mattress and after 1 week it was sagging by 2 inches. Returned and replaced with another and had to return again 1 month later. Once again returned 1 month later. Now having trouble with the Quality Mattress Outlet in Tucson AZ returning phone calls, coming to check the sagging. Took pictures and sagging over 2 1/2 inches. Went to the store today and now telling us that it is not covered by ANY warranty. Only the first one was. We are on our 4th mattress in 5 months and they don't care at all about the problems with this mattress. If mattress is returned again they want to charge $75 each time it is returned. The mattress has a 10 year warranty and would have loved to get even 1 week without it sagging!

Loud and Collapsing Support
  • Purchased in Jul 2012

I've had many differenet mattresses in the past but I can honestly say that I've never had one like this. After 2 months the sides of the mattress made so much noise getting in and out of the bed that if I get up in the middle of the night, it wakes my husband up! It's kind of a groan, kind of a screaming sound and you can tell it's the "extra" support on the sides of the mattress. It's really disturbing.
And then there are the large sink holes everyone else is writing about. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic. Imagine yourself turning over at night and feeling like you have to climb up a hill to get to a part of the bed that has a little support. That's what you do with this mattress.
Our mattress is only 6 months old. The previous mattress we had lasted 10 years and it never got this bad. So, you know you are dealing with low-class manufacturers. There is no other way to describe it.
I just wish I had checked the reviews before we bought!

I have had this Mattress for 8 months and I have say it was the worst thing that we have ever slept on. In a matter of months I have a vally in the middle of it is just getting worse as time go. Maybe if you are getting this for some one that you do not like and they way 60lb this might be for them... Worst thing that I have every bought. Have to get it to the manufactore and I do not have a truck and a bad back. I am told that I will be out of a mattress until this is delt with but not 100% positve it will be covered under warrenty.

Pros:
I didn't like it at all.
Cons:
Uncomfortable.

I had an awful experience with this mattress, because it is really uncomfortable, when I wake in the morning I have a back pain and some times I awake in the midnight from the uncomfortability. And I contacted the dealer to come and inspecting the mattress, then they came and inspected it, they said yes it is uneven, and the boxer need to be replaced, and they will contact the manufacturer because it come with a ten years warranty, but after that they sent me a letter stating that your concerns are not covered under the manufacturers warranty!!!!!
I spent $797on it, so my money is gone, because I need to buy a new one.
So I do not recommend it at all.

Pros:

Cons:

We bought this mattress set back in 2008 when it first came out. We had looked through several stores before buying, and finally decided on this one. For $1800 and with a 15 year warranty we thought we were choosing well. We were wrong. We have had the set for 4 years and we have no support left in it. There are 2 indentations where my husband and I sleep. (We are not heavy people.) The bed has no bounce back. After it is slept on for a few months, it keeps permanent impressions.
We are going through the warranty process right now, and are hoping all goes well.

Pros:
Um...I guess the only positive thing was that my son really needed a mattress and it was new...
Cons:
CHEAP AND NOISY. Makes tons of squeaky crinkly noise when you roll over.

I assumed this was the absolute cheapest one they make because you can't flip it. I may be right that it was the cheapest one (my husband bought it and he's no longer with us) but I guess the mattress industry "makes them that way now "so that they don't last more than a few years". Actually, they do still make them "flippable", they just don't sell them to the general public. They sell them to hotels because hotels said, "we aren't buying mattresses that often, make them right." This particular one has a deep crease in the middle- almost like the center separated It happened less than 2 years after we got it. There is nothing you can do but go buy a new one...or perhaps we need a standard of quality law passed that corporations have to make products at least somewhat decently. I'm pretty angry.

Cons:
Really?

So sarcasm aside this mattress sucks!!! I honestly try to let things go and don't post on boards like this but I had to. $900 spent and 2 months later I get to sleep in a mountain valley. Glad it is a king that way I get to get to the top of the valley. I roll over to the other side when my better half to get up to have better pain. Worst money I ever spent. I'm going to a bed in a box. Please don't give me the whole thing about purchasing an off brand. Anything over $750 is a lot of money in my thoughts. I have had Sealy mattresses that were $2000 and had similar problem. Granted not this extreme. The company replaced it for free and was back to the same issue again. Corsicana tells me this is now marketed under another name. Wonder why? Anyways avoid it all costs.

Pros:
The one I laid on in the store felt great, not sure if I got the same one I ordered.
Cons:
After sleeping on it a week, very disappointing.

My first words when I went to purchase this is I hate foam mattress's. I had no idea that was what I was buying, because I stessed this many times. The first night I knew they was a problem, first the smell was alful, it stunk for about a month, so I'm not sure if the smell went a way, or I've got used to it. The first nights sleep was exactly how I told them my other mattress set felt, that I had paid almost $1000. It felt like I was sleeping on a old cotton mattress, lumpy and very uncomfortable. I thought I should at least give the mattress a try, after a month, I've had to rotate the mattress, because a dip where I lay was beginning to form. Oh by the way, did I mention my husband can't sleep with me, because we form to big lump in the middle. I've had the mattress about 3 months, I've been so busy at work I couldn't go back to the company I bought it from, I'll be going back Monday, wish me luck, the owners really talked like they would help me if I had any issues with the mattress.

Pros:
At least I was able to get a replacement promptly within two weeks.
Cons:
Bought in 2011 collapsed within three months.
  • Purchased in Apr 2011

The company I bought from got the replacement without much issue. The pictures I took apparently spoke volumes. Initially, I was suppose to do the measuring thing as stated in antoher one of the reviews. The first mattress was awful. I now have the replacement, and the smell is awful, I have had it a week now and the smell is still there, but the mattress hasn't collapsed as did the first. I hope that the smell will go away soon, and of course, the mattress will stay supportive for the body longer than three months. I would never, never, never, buy another one.

The company that sold the item to me was top notch in helping me get a new one to try.

Pros:
This wasn't the cheapest prices eurotop mattress at Mattress Land more of a middle of the pack. 10 YR Warranty
Cons:
VERY HARD EXTRA FIRM EUROTOP MATTRESS. Upper back, neck and shoulders hurt.

After 1 hour of laying on this mattress my neck, upper back and shoulders had extreme pressure placed on them. This mattress is very firm so beware. I was told it was a extra soft mattress, great for side sleepers by Mattress Land and that's what it felt in the store but not once I got it home. BEWARE!!!!

“Lumpy Road”

  • Comfort

  • Durability
  • Value
Pros:
Fair Price
Cons:
This is probably the worst mattress I have ever slept on.

Within six months of purchase the mattress was returned because of "grooves" that formed. I am not a real "heffer" at 190 pounds so I do not know why this mattress fell apart so quickly. The retailer promptly replaced the mattress but in four months the replacement had the same lumps and grooves as the first. This time however, the retailer moved and could not be located.

I finally tracked down the retailer I purchased the mattress set from and he informed me that they no longer handle the product because of many similar complaints to mine and the poor customer service that the company (Corsicana) gave its customers.

I was provided with the contact information for Corsicana and they requested information which I promptly provided them. They then wanted my to take measurements of the irregularities of the mattress which was no easy task. I am still waiting to see what if anything they are going to do to make it right.

I cannot recommend Corsicanna to anyone seeking a quality mattress at a decent price. Did I mention, the mattress set I purchased was , at the time, the top of the line; Heritage Series, Bliss mattress.

Pros:
Inexpensive Cost to you. Attractive in design
Cons:
Gives out. Feel the springs dig in your back like acupuncture. Pillow top is hardly noticed!

Started out buying this mattress as part of the bedroom suite my wife and I purchased nearly 2 years ago from a local furniture store.  The furniture is great however the mattress is less to be desired.  As with most mattresses in the showroom, we laid on it and it felt great.  We got it home and enjoyed it for about 6 months, to find the springs starting to pop upon every movement I made.  I only weigh 170 pounds so this should not be an issue but it kept getting worse until the thing started to physically hurt us at night.  If the other moved in bed to readjust there body, the other went for a ride like at an amusement park!  I didn't buy tickets to ride this thing!  So I'm off buying another mattress like an Englander.  Stay away!  Oh by the way, I can't return it because te furniture store changed management, name of the store, and don't carry that brand or service them.  So I like that.  Try looking up info about the manufacturer and find they are/were made by Corsicana.  Nice food for thought!

Cons:

Use to spend thousands of dollars for mattresses. I figured I would try a no name brand for a change. It was the best thing I ever done. I spent under $400.00 for a queen set and I sleep better than ever. Nothing but good to say about Corsicana beds. Save Money and sleep great. They also have 10 year warranties. I don't understand why these people that have complaints about them don't use their warranty and get their mattress repaired or replaced. Bill at Mattresses and More in Magnolia TX. is the best to deal with and he stands behind his products.

Very poor workmanship Very poor service Furniture store was uncooperative, refused to discuss problem

A nightmare, the mattress collapsed within two weeks, and there was no recourse for me. The company is a nightmare to deal with, they don't return telephone calls. I am not heavy - 160 lbs, but the mattress was completely sunken within two weeks. I highly recommend staying away from their products. I really don't believe that the mattress I received was even new it collapsed to rapidly. They tried to get me to purchase an upgraded mattress, but I just went to another store and purchased something - a store that will not sell Corsicana, by the way!

Corsicana's products are terrible, 2 beds in less than 2 years that had the same problem.
They are rude and overall very challenging to work with.
They refused to help me in the end with getting another warranty exchange, therefore, I need to purchase another mattress (which I spent $1000 for 3 years ago).
This company is THE WORST!!!! DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!!!

I now have major neck and upper back issues because of this bed. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone! The bed within 2 weeks started sagging on both my side as well as my husbands. The middle has popped up and I was told to just throw my kids in the middle so it doesn't pop up so much. RIDICULOUS!! Worst bed ever!!! Cons:
Cheap junk. Not worth hauling home for the dog to sleep on.

This is the worst mattress I have ever slept on. The matress is currently about a year old and so broken down we are going out to buy a new mattress today. We have turned the mattress several times in the last year. It got so broken down we actually flipped it but it only has a pillow top on one side. It actually sleeps better upside down. Now the bottom of the mattress is starting to break down. I am going to where we bought the mattress today and talk to the salesman who told me how great the mattress is. If I don't get some satisfaction they will find the mattress in their parking lot in the morning.

Corsicana has been our worst mattress purchase ever. Support began to fail within days. The mattress was completely unusable within six months. Corsicana refused to warranty the mattress because the "body impressions" were not deep enough. Customer service has been non-existant. The mattress was purchased at a going-out-of-business sale, now the retailer is gone.

We bought the bed in June of 2010 and by Christmas we were trying to get the bed replaced. The store where we bought it from was closing for the winter and we ended up having to wait until today for a replacement, it is currently July 2011. 8 months we had to wait for some resolution and who knows this bed may fail just bad as the other. We started off with the Chesapeke it was amazing for about a week then from there down hill. We were so disappointed because we had shopped and shopped for what we thought was going to be a good bed. The mattress collapsed on the one side and the center of the bed had a massive lump in it my husband and I could not even roll over to snuggle since there was a lump in the way. The only thing I can say positive about the bed was the lump we stopped smacking each other in our sleep.....LOL but really it was a waste of out money next time I am buying a sleep number bed my friend has one and she says hers is amazing.... It costs a bit more but it's worth it for a good night's sleep.

Pros:

Cons:
Its like sleeping in a pit.

This mattress is the worst mattress I have ever owned. The sink hole is just getting worse and worse. I called the store to complain, and they sent out two guys to evaluate the problem. They concluded the frame was not supporting the mattress the way it should, causing the "sinkhole". I regret not forcing them to "retest" it without the frame. I got a letter a few weeks later saying its the frame, not the mattress. It has the same problem without the frame, just on the floor. Not only will I avoid this brand, I will never buy anything from that store again. Why have a warranty that just shifts blame away from their faulty product? The warranty guys and their smoke and mirrors "testing". They used string and office supply binder clips along with a paper ring with a ruler. This ring looked like a burger king crown for kids. the sag was VERY noticeable, and they still simply blamed the frame. It was a joke, and a waste of my time.

too soft, will make body ache all over

Worst mattress ever! We bought this in 2009 and have suffered since. We are going to get a new mattress today. It is not worth paying a cheap price and buying an off brand.

Mattress is very soft and offers no support, it is now lumpy and there are dips on each side where my husband and I sleep. I have aches and pains in my back, ribs and sholder area every single day, where I never had them before. Only reason why we bought a new mattress in the first place is because we upgraded from a Queen to a King

"MAJOR SAGGING" LIKE THE COMPLETE CENTER OF THE MATTRESS EXCEPT FOR THE 3-4" AREA THAT SURROUNDED THE EDGES.

Wasted my hard earned $800.00 and had to endure 2-1/2 years of extremely uncomfortable conditions. The mattess was turned regularly and to no avail just sank deeper and deeper and maintained the sag area with absolutely no recovery. The mattress was beautiful in appearance but certainly lacking in any kind of continous support. The sagging started occuring within six months of purchase.

The "X Firm" mattress is nothing more than a bunch of foam that causes excruciating pain to my neck, back, and hip. I've had the mattress since November 13, 2010 and a big disappointment. I wasted $694.93. I will alert everyone I know that is looking for a firm mattress. They named the springs right on this one. It is nothing more than a box, which I’m sure would serve a firmer purpose than the mattress.

Pros:
Good support No sagging Edge support Very soft 4.5" of pillow top goodness Good price for this much quality
Cons:
none so far

Very soft, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being firm, I would say this mattress is about a 5. Very comfy. It has 1.5 inches of quilt foam on top of 3 inches of the good tempurpedic type foam. you feel yourself squish down in it slowly over the first few minutes, but just enough to relieve pressure off the heavy parts of your body, you know, like my hips and shoulders sink into the foam a couple inches but you dont sink down into it like a hammock, its got good firm support underneath, and its very quiet too, since the coils are all individually wrapped, i can have s*x with my wife and the kids have no idea what we're doing, haha. This mattress is a good 14" thick so we used the king fitted sheet off our old bed and it fits. This is an over sized high quality mattress. An expert told me if you feel the sides of the mattress and it is soft, it is a crappy mattress and will give out after a short time. You want to feel the sides and feel a firm side, which this one is. It has what the call "edge support" so you can sit on the edge an it feels firm. I weigh 230 lbs and this mattress does not let me "sink down" into the middle, and when I get out there is no "crater" in the middle. All in all I would say it was well worth the $650 we paid for it.

My husband and I bought this mattress and after 8 nights, felt like we were sleeping in a coffin---we just sunk further and further down. We had awful lower back pain, numbness/tingling in our shoulders and arms (couldn't possibly roll over in our "holes"), etc. Tried to return it--more nightmares! The store finally exchanged it--after insinuating that we were idiots and liars--for another just like it. The indentations from the straps used to secure it in our truck are still there--not even sure it is worth putting up. Think I'll call a lawyer tomorrow to see if ANYTHING can be done.

Pros:
Comfortable with good support.
Cons:
No problem.

This is an excellent mattress for the price($450). My girlfriend has an Ikea mattress she bought for $600 and we both agree that this one is just as comfortable. Good support, wake up feeling good in the morning. Good price. No need for a foundation, I use it with bedframe that does not require a foundation and it works great.
