I have a firm mattress, but it has been about 20 years old it was a TCHIRO - PROTECTOR COLLECTION Eternity Super Plush Firm I would like to know if it would be alright to use the box spring and mattress as a foundation for the new mattress I would like to buy? Thanks for you information |

I highly recommend only using a new boxspring/foundation for a new mattress. I wouldn't chance causing problems with the new mattress by having an older support system underneath. |

Hi Susan, It's like cheating on your taxes or on a test. It's ok, as long as you don't get caught. The same principle applies here. As long as your new mattress doesn't develop a problem, it'll be ok. Any mattress you buy for use as you've described will have its warranty voided the moment you do that. Pete |
