I was leary to spend 3K on a mattress, but after my coil spring purchase last year that developed a sink spot where I laid, I decided I was going to add the additional money to get the Tempur-Pedic.

The first couple weeks was akward, the bed was not as soft in the store, it smelt kind odd, and I was worried that I wouldn't like my 3K dollar investement.

Within 4 weeks (just like they said) the bed had turned into the most fantasic mattress, fully soft in every way, while supporting every square inch of your body.

I began to awake in the morning and literally asking myself why isn't my back hurting? I was so used to having upper shoulder/back pain my entire life and it isn't there anymore.

It also confused me at times when I would go to sleep on my back and the next morning awaken in the same position! -I am not a back sleeper traditionally-

Now that I have had this mattress for 4 months, I can't imagine ever having to go back to a coil/spring mattress.

Pros:
For me (200 lb male) - its great, I like it just fine. My back has never been happier.

Cons:
For my wife (110 lb female) - she hates it. Says her ribs feel like someone used a baseball bat.

This is touted as the ultimate in back health and comfort. We've done everything the store recommended to break it in and get used to it, like having me walk on it, but to no avail. I sleep great, my wife can't sleep on it at all. You should only buy one where you can get a 100% no questions asked return or exchange if it doesn't suit you both. $3000 for a bed we can't share. We are not sure what (if anything) the retailer will do to help.
