I absolutely love our tempurpedic mattress. I find it incredibly easy to get comfortable at night and fall asleep in just seconds. They are a little pricey, but I'd pay just about anything to consistently sleep well. This bed is so comfortable that I sadly get excited to return from vacation just so I can sleep in my own bed.
Overall I love my mattress - mattress fits less like a glove and more like a snuggie.
The only drawback is the heat. First time I slept on it I woke up in a sweat. Since then I've figured out the appropriate balance of bedding and airconditioning. The extra utility costs in the summer is more than offset by the comfort.
The best mattress I have ever owned and when it's time, I will buy another one. Even after 5 years, my wife and I are still in love with the bed. It feels and looks like new and we often talk about what a great purchase it was, especially when we have been away from home for a few days.
Paid almost $3500 for mattress, foundation and delivery in May 2005. Already had a 3-bed beam support system with 6 legs. Mattress felt great and provided excellent support for first five years or so. Rotated, not flipped (you can't), mattress every 12 months or so. Started to notice soft spots where my wife and I typically laid in 2010. By soft spots I mean areas where the foam was soft and not as supportive as the rest of the mattress. If one of us slept in the middle of the mattress, it was great. However, that is not a practical solution for a married couple. So my wife called Tempur-Pedic and told them about the problem. They told her that they would warranty the mattress if she sent them photos showing "a visible indentation greater than .75 of an inch." In other words, if we could lay a long, straight pole across the top of the mattress and there were easily visible gaps the size of a quarter where we usually lay, they would warranty the mattress. Given that the Celebrity mattress has a pillow top and the nature of our complaint was a softening of the foam, not a depression in the foam, this was impossible to show. Thus, no warranty claim and no new mattress. I do not know about you, but the burden of proof they require seems impossible to meet rendering the warranty less than worthless. Waited two years as my wife's back and neck problems got worse and I tried Tempur-Pedic again. Still no luck. Same impossible burden of proof. A good night's sleep should not cost $700 a year. Tempur-Pedic needs to either change their warranty or lower their prices significantly. Until they do, I will never buy another of their products and will continue to steer everyone who will listen away from their products.
When my husband and I purchased this bed we bought it because of all the great things we had heard about it. After the initial break in period the bed became increasingly hot. The warmer we got the more we sank into the bed and the hotter the bed made us feel. Now when we sank into the bed we were unable to move and change positions while sleeping therefore we would wake up with terrible back pains and shoulder pains. My arms are constantly falling asleep because I sleep on my side and I can not roll over to change my position without fully waking up. I do not recommend this bed it is too hot and does not give any support for anyone.
