“Doc changed my life!”

  • Comfort: Slightly too soft
  • Support: Excellent
  • Durability: Slightly worse
  • Pressure relief: Excellent
  • Temperature: Just right
Pros:

Comfort
Conforming
Pressure Relief

Cons:

None

I work at a local furniture retailer and won this bed and got it about 3 months ago. Within the first few days of sleepign on this mattress, I woke up feeling WELL rested and with next to no pain. I had a mattress made by KingKoil (which now produces the Dr. Bruess beds) and it had a firm feel. My wife loves a more firm matterss since shes a stomach sleeper and I like a more soft feel with my mattress since I have back and neck issues. After about a month of sleeping on this wonderful mattress I don't wake up with any pain! It supports my body so well.

“Signature Helps MS Sufferer When Warranty is Honored”

Pros:
Encourages, and most importantly, ALLOWS, sleep
Cons:
Nothing so far...
  • Purchased in Aug 2011

We had a mattress from International Bedding that turned out not to be a good one. However, an occasional lemon will happen. Thanks to Melissa and in particular, Anne, at International Bedding, our warranty was honored on the "lemon" and it was replaced. We were offered an up-grade to a Dr. Breuss since the mattress we had is one of the beds IBC no longer manufactures.

I am not an old person or a large person, but my body has been through a lot in my short life time. I have multiple sclerosis, carpel tunnel in both arms, bursitis in my hip joints, and I've had two disc fusion surgeries on my neck, not to mention a massive heart attack, bypass surgery and multiple stent implants in arteries. My husband, too, has had disc fusion surgery on his neck.

Because of the disc fusion surgeries, my left shoulder is impossible to sleep upon. The point of the shoulder always feels deeply bone-bruised. Because of the bursitis and multiple sclerosis, it had been impossible to lie on my right hip. The MS would cause my right leg to go numb within seconds on my old mattress. Since I also cannot sleep on my stomach (don't ask why!), I am left with being confined to sleeping on my back. But this too had been a painful experience since one of the features of multiple sclerosis (otherwise known as the MonSter to sufferers of this incureable, and ultimately fatal, central nervous system disease) is that one is always left feeling as though one is sitting in a vat of hot oil. In other words, the butt burns intensely and constantly.

The first night on the Dr. Breuss Signature bed, I slept all night for the first time in years. Before, resting my elbows on the mattress would have sparked my carpel tunnel to wake me in pain so severe I'd sit straight up in bed and gasp, even though I wear braces on my hands. But the Signature bed is soft and supportive. Not once did the carpel tunnel wake me, as it ALWAYS had in the past, every night without fail, usually several times. What a relief. Some may think the bed too soft, but it is not. It is just soft enough to relieve pressure points that cause pain and just supportive enough to provide a weightless feeling that relieves pain.

I still can't sleep on my left shoulder and they'll never make a bed that allows me to lie on my stomach, but I can lie on my right hip for a few minutes now without my leg going numb. I can sleep on my back with far less burning sensation and pain than what I have experienced in the past few years. My husband would like the bed to be a bit more firm than what it is, but he says he likes it, and judging by listening to him sleep, he sleeps well on it.

I don't believe any bed can completely get rid of all the pain in a body that's been through what mine has. But the Dr. Breuss Signature bed has given me an opportunity to find one inviting place in my home where I can have little or no pain for a space of rest, and for me, that is a blessing I cannot find words to describe. Thank you so much, Anne, for recommending this bed!!

Pros:
Very comfortable, the bed encourages sleep. It conforms to the body very well.
Cons:
The bed makes it very hard to get up in the morning you want to lay in it all day.

It is not a Tempur-Pedic but it is just as good if not better. In our first night we fell in love with this bed. It seems to surround your body in comfort and support. There is a sense of wieghtlessness on the bed there are no pressure points. We used to wake up stiff and sore, but not since we have been sleeping on this bed. For the first time in many years we have through the entire night without having to move around or get up. We will recommend this bed to everyone we know and encourage them to try it out.

“Great Night Sleep! Finally Here for the Both of Us”

Pros:
Great support but soft enough for my liking. Wonderful for lower back. Body temp seems cooler throughout the night.
Cons:
Took a little getting use to a slight "floating feeling" that is touted with the bed.

After going through several mattresses in the past 15 yrs because of continuous lower back problems, i finally found a bed that solves my sleepless nights and also something my wife loves. My wife approval was also a critical and important point because she has always favored the softer mattresses. So finding the bed that we both could enjoy and rest comfortably has been quite a task over the past 15yrs.

This Dr Breus bed was just what we have been looking for. We purchased this back in the first part of the year and one the biggest problems we had had in the past was that after the first 3-4 months it seemed as if our old mattresses would loose some form and form around my body creating additional issues when i slept. Also many of our other mattresses, I would wake up somewhat hot. Now it could be that i'm a little large but i just knew there was something on the market that could maintain the great back support and have that subtle softness everyone likes in a mattress and that was the Dr Brues bed. Great value price wise within our budget and seems to be well manufactured.

I would say "Just what the Dr order" no pun intended.

Pros:
Love the weightless feeling when I sleep. No pressure on my shoulders. No numbness. Cannot feel my husband move.
Cons:
This bed is exactly what I wanted it to be.

I bought this mattress from a small mattress store owner. There was a process where we would lay on the mattresses for a few minutes to let our bodies adjust to the particular mattress we were laying on. We tried several of the Dr. Breus beds and a couple of others. The Dr. Breus bed was by far much much more luxurious than any of the other mattresses we had tried that day at other mattress stores. The lady who helped us was very knowledgeable and willing to give us time to make up our minds which mattress we wanted.. We have had our mattress about 4 months now and we are absolutely in love with it. We feel it was worth the money we spent since we wake up feeling so much better than we every have. We recommend this mattress to everyone that want sleep quality.

Pros:

Cons:
Wish would have got low profile foundation

I started searching for a new mattress because of issues I was having getting a good night’s rest. I made many changes to my sleep habits, some of which included suggestions by Dr Breus himself. This made things better but still was not fully reenergized in the mornings. Then went shopping for a new bed , and our Dr Breus Monogram bed from Sleepy’s was a great decision. Thanks to Simone our sales person who was very patient and knowledgeable, and now I am truly sleeping better.

“Turned to "mush" ”

  • Comfort: Slightly too soft
  • Support: Don't know
  • Durability: Way worse
  • Pressure relief: Good
  • Temperature: Just right
Pros:

Initial Comfort

Cons:

Price
Surface Integrity

  • Purchased in Aug 2011

This mattress was great...at first. Now, less than 2 years later after paying nearly $2,000 the feel of it is terrible. It is very mushy and not at all like it used to be. My daughter has fibromyalgia so she likes a softer mattress, but now she is soooo uncomfortable as it sinks like sleeping on a wet piece of foam. We use a water proof, expensive mattress cover and no damage was done to it on our part. She weighs about 100 pounds so I doubt it was from some excess weight! Sleepy's no longer carrys this brand. I'm heading there now to complain....

“Misrepresentation and after 6 months uncomfortable!”

Pros:
Was very comfortable at first.
Cons:
Not "Latex" as described, Became lumpy and uncomfortable after 6 months use

This is a nice looking mattress that was sold to me by Sleepy's as "Natural Latex" on getting it home I find that the legal labelling describes it as only 21% Latex and 77% polyurethane foam. We had some discussiions with Sleepy's and did some local research, finding that Sleepy's staff routinely described this mattress as 100% Natural Latex. Sleepy's finally offered us a replacement - but decided (becuse of the comfort) to accept their assurance that they would educate their staff and give us a $75 gift voucher.
Six months later the bed is now really uncomfortable, it has become lumpy - the "pillowtop" seems to have become distorted. neither my wife nor I are particularly heavy. We were tested on Sleepy's measuring beds and this was their recommnedation. I am now going to see what Sleepy's say about this - watch this space.

does not feel anything like in the store. no support. lumpy, uncomfortable, overpriced

I just want to warn people so they dont buy this unproven mattress. It is lumpy. The guys couldn't carry it in the houe because it kept folding in half and the customer service person told me that it was okay with this mattress. It was $4000.00 and were sleeping in the guest room. Please do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake and get something else.
I give this mattress absolutely no stars, but the program wouldnt work unless i picked ones

“Do you "Trust Sleepy’s for the rest of your life?"”

Pros:

Cons:
Much softer than in store, especially over time. Lumpy or/Soft only in certain spots! Forms body impressions quickly.

For a little background: My husband and I are young and healthy, in our early 30’s. I never had any back issues, until the experience with these mattresses!

We purchased a Dr. B Signature Plush from a Staten Island store because if felt supportive and comfortable, however, after a week or so in our house; it turned out to be much softer than the showroom (as some reviewers also agree on Sleepy’s website.)

At this point I was frustrated, paranoid and worried about choosing the wrong mattress. So we decided to focus on our issue of the bed being too soft and solve that by finding a firmer bed. After numerous try out visits and spending 45 minutes on the Dr. B Signature Elite Firm Euro top, we paid the hefty exchange fee + shipping and purchased it. We received delivery the week of March 28th.
Fast forward 5 weeks to May 3rd, the bed has formed body impressions, is much softer in certain spots than others and is definitely not providing consistent support. IN addition, when my husband and I are in bed together, his weight pulls the bed down and I end up rolling towards his weighed down side. We are not heavy people, he‘s 6’0 at 165 lbs and I’m 5’ 4” at about 148 lbs.

The above issues should be expected as a bed ages, probably over 8-10 years or more, but certainly not within months of purchase!

Overall, I am terribly disappointed in the Dr. Breuss bed and Sleepy’s for selling it to me. I have now done research and found that every Dr. B. bed will not be exactly the way you tried it because the foam is not poured consistently for each and every bed, even if it is the same exact Dr. B. Firm bed.

“Misrepresented”

Pros:
none
Cons:
Materials in bed are not what are advertised

I purchased a Dr. Breus Signature bed from Sleepy's. I was assured by sales people including the district manager that the bed is made of all natural materials including only natural latex (primary ingredient) and soy. The documenation/sales materials in the store states the same. I am allergic to polyurethane which is the main ingredient in the foam used in many beds today. I was assured this bed contained none. For this reason, I was willing to pay a significantly greater amount of money. After investigating further and reading the federal law materials tag on the beds, it turns out all of these beds actually contain over 50% polyurethane foam and most models much more than 50%. I I wanted a run of the mill polyurethane foam bed, I could pay half the price. Buyer beware.
