Very soft, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being firm, I would say this mattress is about a 5. Very comfy. It has 1.5 inches of quilt foam on top of 3 inches of the good tempurpedic type foam. you feel yourself squish down in it slowly over the first few minutes, but just enough to relieve pressure off the heavy parts of your body, you know, like my hips and shoulders sink into the foam a couple inches but you dont sink down into it like a hammock, its got good firm support underneath, and its very quiet too, since the coils are all individually wrapped, i can have s*x with my wife and the kids have no idea what we're doing, haha. This mattress is a good 14" thick so we used the king fitted sheet off our old bed and it fits. This is an over sized high quality mattress. An expert told me if you feel the sides of the mattress and it is soft, it is a crappy mattress and will give out after a short time. You want to feel the sides and feel a firm side, which this one is. It has what the call "edge support" so you can sit on the edge an it feels firm. I weigh 230 lbs and this mattress does not let me "sink down" into the middle, and when I get out there is no "crater" in the middle. All in all I would say it was well worth the $650 we paid for it.
I have had this Mattress for 8 months and I have say it was the worst thing that we have ever slept on. In a matter of months I have a vally in the middle of it is just getting worse as time go. Maybe if you are getting this for some one that you do not like and they way 60lb this might be for them... Worst thing that I have every bought. Have to get it to the manufactore and I do not have a truck and a bad back. I am told that I will be out of a mattress until this is delt with but not 100% positve it will be covered under warrenty.
So sarcasm aside this mattress sucks!!! I honestly try to let things go and don't post on boards like this but I had to. $900 spent and 2 months later I get to sleep in a mountain valley. Glad it is a king that way I get to get to the top of the valley. I roll over to the other side when my better half to get up to have better pain. Worst money I ever spent. I'm going to a bed in a box. Please don't give me the whole thing about purchasing an off brand. Anything over $750 is a lot of money in my thoughts. I have had Sealy mattresses that were $2000 and had similar problem. Granted not this extreme. The company replaced it for free and was back to the same issue again. Corsicana tells me this is now marketed under another name. Wonder why? Anyways avoid it all costs.
This is the worst mattress I have ever slept on. The matress is currently about a year old and so broken down we are going out to buy a new mattress today. We have turned the mattress several times in the last year. It got so broken down we actually flipped it but it only has a pillow top on one side. It actually sleeps better upside down. Now the bottom of the mattress is starting to break down. I am going to where we bought the mattress today and talk to the salesman who told me how great the mattress is. If I don't get some satisfaction they will find the mattress in their parking lot in the morning.
This mattress is the worst mattress I have ever owned. The sink hole is just getting worse and worse. I called the store to complain, and they sent out two guys to evaluate the problem. They concluded the frame was not supporting the mattress the way it should, causing the "sinkhole". I regret not forcing them to "retest" it without the frame. I got a letter a few weeks later saying its the frame, not the mattress. It has the same problem without the frame, just on the floor. Not only will I avoid this brand, I will never buy anything from that store again. Why have a warranty that just shifts blame away from their faulty product? The warranty guys and their smoke and mirrors "testing". They used string and office supply binder clips along with a paper ring with a ruler. This ring looked like a burger king crown for kids. the sag was VERY noticeable, and they still simply blamed the frame. It was a joke, and a waste of my time.
Worst mattress ever! We bought this in 2009 and have suffered since. We are going to get a new mattress today. It is not worth paying a cheap price and buying an off brand.
Mattress is very soft and offers no support, it is now lumpy and there are dips on each side where my husband and I sleep. I have aches and pains in my back, ribs and sholder area every single day, where I never had them before. Only reason why we bought a new mattress in the first place is because we upgraded from a Queen to a King
The Colonial Collection is a line of mattresses that was manufactured by Corsicana.
